Independent distributors VCI Entertainment will release on Blu-ray director J. Lee Thompson's Flame Over India a.k.a The North West Frontier (1959), starring Kenneth More, Lauren Bacall and Herbert Lom. The preliminary release date set by the distributors is June 3rd.

It is the North West Frontier of India at the turn of the century. Captain Scott (More) is sent by the British Governor to rescue a five-year-old Prince and his American Governess, Catherine Wyatt (Bacall), when a rebellion breaks out amongst the tribesmen. Scott is instructed to take the child to safety in Kalapur, which is 300 miles away, on the pretext that while he is alive, no rebellion can succeed. They are forced to travel on an old and fragile train, but it soon becomes clear that the danger from the train is the least of their worries. Someone on the train is trying to kill the Prince.

Great news, I hope it's not region locked (or better still, released in the UK). I saw this age nine when it was first released as North West Frontier in the UK, what a great boys own adventure.

hmmmmm...........I just saw them listed on amazon marketplace and assumed they had it in stock.
I'm assuming it came out, but maybe not.
the importcds amazon listing says "in stock", but, of course, they could be out.

Strange, Amazon has changed their listing to a 6/26 release, but now says "Usually ships within 1 to 4 weeks."

I pre-ordered it directly from ImportCDs ($10.75 with the SAVE10 sale through 6/24) some time ago. Everything else in that order has shipping, including Night of the Grizzly with a 6/26 release but Flame still shows backordered. I'll wait for them. Let us know if newtownvideos ships your order, I think with the Amazon listing saying "usually ships in 1-4 weeks" that gives the 3rd party listings the same leeway.

I gave up trying to get this from Amazon but I was able to snag a copy from a Marketplace seller on Amazon - He shipped my copy today. VCI titles always seem to get pushed back a week or two. I've had my eye on this one for a long time.

hmmmmm.......well my order hasn't shipped from Newtown so I figured it had been pushed back to tomorrow. I'm going to stick with my order a bit longer and hopefully it will ship very soon.
