Question Name few artists/bands (famous) that you are sure no one else here likes/knows !

Name few artists/bands (famous) that you are sure no one else here likes !

I am sure there are myriad of small and unknown acts that we like that no one else have even heard of. but I m also sure that there are quite big acts that you or me like that other forum member are unaware of or do not like.

I name

New Model Army
The The

they have sold albums world wide very well and have had even chart success, but any other fans here ? I doubt ...

Nick Lowe.

I'm a huge fan; I've listened to his music since 1978, and seen at least one date (usually more) on every tour since 1981, and have a ridiculously exhaustive collection of audio and video by him, from sources both legit (his entire catalog) and "not so legit" (audio and video bootlegs of shows, interviews, etc.).

When he plays in my area, he usually plays to about 150 people or so. Though I've seen him open many shows in arenas, too, for bands like The Cars and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.

Be Bop Deluxe. Underated guitar genius Bill Nelson's music goes under most peoples radar.

Like NEW MODEL ARMY, another British underground cult band born in the 80s, which should have had at the time a commercial success that they largely deserved...THE SOUND, a Rock/New wave band carried by the superb voice of the late Adrian Borland who should have been as huge as U2, THE CURE, ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN, JOY DIVISION or SIMPLE MINDS...

That's a big list and a lot of those artists are pretty mainstream artists that I'm sure people here know. There are a few that belong on the list but, for instance, I think people know who Peter Gabriel is.

The following are my favorites who are not here anymore. I wish so much that all five of them were still here, I love them all so very much.

Northern Calloway (David from the Sesame Street children's show)
Steve Sanders of the Oak Ridge Boys
Billy Joe Royal
Hal Ketchum
Joe Diffie

God bless you and their families always!!!

Holly

That was the point, I thought. Isn't this a thread about famous artists that no one listens to or doesn't like? Peter Gabriel is famous, but no one really listens to him anymore. At least I don't think they do.

^^^ I don't think that it's about how often each act is played. It may be more about whether or not they are heard of. The five gentlemen that I listed were big in their field at one point, but because of them not being here anymore, and of course the fact that time can't be stopped, there is only going to end up being more and more people who have never even heard of them which is only one of the many reasons why I will never put away what they are known for and that is their awesome music. My top reason for never putting their material away is because I think that they are worth every second that I spend on them.

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. I could be wrong, but the most well-known person from my list is Joe Diffie, but I won't be surprised if you eventually won't find him on just any country music radio station anymore. If he is still played, it is only one or two of his songs when in my opinion, there is way more to him than just those couple of songs.

Look at the other posts in the thread. People are posting about artists that they don't think people know.

I think he meant to say not many people here like those bands.

Though I like RHCP.

With the number of well known and successful artists on the list, I don't believe that.

Well, they're not mentioned on this site much then. At least the ones on my list.

I think that's because this more of a forum for movies and electronics equipment. Personally, there were only a few names on your list that I hadn't heard of. I own CDs by most of them.
