Sony Big Announcement 12th - Blu-ray Forum

Hey all,

For the last couple of weeks everynow and then i would hear someone make mention of some big announcement Sony was to make in regards to the ps3 on the 12th... well the 12th has passed now and i cant see anything anywhere talking of this - does anyone know anything of this?

I think it was the 40GB PS3.

The next big date is Oct 30th. PS3 1.1 maybe? Panny DMP-BD30A.

40 GB PS3 for $399 available Nov 2nd is what I read right here on blu-ray.com.

Yup profile 1.1 PS3 firmware update is supposed to be Oct 30th.

No official confirmation on PS3 1.1 ... So far it's all conjecture. There was an assumption made that this was the case because of an update to the Terms Of Service on the Playstation website. The update to the written text stated that it was "Update 2.0" and that it took effect on Oct 30th. That had no bearing on the supposed 2.0 firmware update for the PS3.

So theres still a small glimpse of hope there for that DTS-HDMA Decoding yet ;-) hahaha

Hoping so....I got a reciever that can play it if the PS3 can decode it also!
