I think I remember there was a pre-release thread for this on here, it might have been deleted when the database crashed. Anyway, there's still no pre-order up yet, but Play.com have updated the cover art, it now has "The Unseen Version" at the top and the 15 certificate, so the Blu-ray will be uncut! After Universal and Momentum released cut versions of Immortals and The Woman in Black over here, it's good to see that Lionsgate have some sense! Hopefully a pre-order will be up soon.

Very, very pleased that we're getting the uncut version. And a two-disc set as well, brilliant.

Hope we get one of the steelbooks that are floating around elsewhere. That's cover's fine (a bit crowded) but the Mockingjay and District 12 steelbooks are both fantastic.

I don't care about the cover.

It's uncut. Thank them for listening.

How much was cut?

Or was it the blood off weapons, etc.?

Probably pre order for me. Enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would when seeing it in the cinema. Hopefully one of those nice steels will find its way over here. Uncut aswell? That's very intriguing.

The rating from Nuts goes well with the '15' cert...it would be funny if they released the cinema version with that on the cover.

I hope so too - those Futureshop SBs are really nice so I hope the UK gets something similar.

I've read the books, but missed it at cinema, worth a blind buy?

If you enjoyed the books, it's a resounding "yes." In fact, unless you absolutely loathed the books, I'm still inclined to say "yes."

Good news about the uncut version, well done Lionsgate for not milking it. It makes sense because the jump from 12 to 15 won't impact sales in any meaningful way, unlike if it were an 18. Hammer, take note.

I think it was 2 or 6 seconds, all the rest was digital removing or blood and darking down some frames

The BBFC site provides some exposition on their classification of the film and information relating to the expected additions to the 'International Cut' here:

Assuming there isn't another version in the offing, the 'Unseen Version' seems likely to be three seconds longer; by the sounds of it including an extra bit of footage of some particularly sadistic knife-brandishing by Clove just before she gets coshed on the bonce with a rock. Seemingly the footage was chopped initially to get a tween-friendly certificate down at the cinema after the censors raised an eyebrow.

As stated above, a few more explicit shots of blood etc. sound like they'll be in, too. All very welcome, but a heavily extended Director's Cut it ain't. From what I've read, there simply aren't oodles of cut scenes or extra footage lying around. Pretty much everything that was shot during principal photography was included in the finished film, so a Gucci, extended edition isn't likely to happen, even for those who wait.
