Default The Official Batman Comics Thread

So it looks like the old thread is gone.

Anyway I just finished Batman New 52 issue 10 and
Wow. What a great read.

I think I will have to buy the complete series in paperform when it comes out.

Also what are the thoughts about the Court of Owels spin-off "Talon" ?

I think the Talons looked a little more badass before!

The first volume, "The Court of Owls", collecting Batman #1-7, is already released. Batman #2, "The City of Owls", will be released in March and will have Batman #8-12, while a "The Night of Owls" collection will be released in Fabruary and collect all the Bat-family titles that tied into the event. So for the entire arc, that's three separate volumes.

But I hope we get a full collected version. A version that has all three collection collected.

Did anyone read The Dark Knight issue 10? Is it any good? Been thinking about getting it on the ipad.

I've always enjoyed Under the Red Hood. It was turned into a DCAU film too.

EDIT: The book was Under the Hood, the film was Under the Red Hood, just to clarify.

Huh? How come? Is there anything controversial about that issue that I've missed?

It has something to do with a scene in the comic that reminds people too much of the Colorado massacre. I also assume it's a publicity stunt, to remind the average moviegoer they still publish a Batman comic. It's been on the frontpage of Drudge for over a day.

There is a couple panels where people are being targeted by a person nothing to bad but they felt it was to close to the Colorado indecent and didn't want to make anyone upset

Oh, I started suspecting as much when I heard about it being pulled.

For everyone that has read The Long Halloween, look into the direct sequel Dark Victory, and also the side-story Catwoman: When in Rome. They're almost as good as that first one IMO.

I've been collecting all the comics of each version of the New 52 Batman comics: Batman (I only lack #3 and no one in the city has it), Batman: TDK, and Batman: Detective Comics. I can't wait to get into the Night of the Owls storyline.

If you like those then I really recommend Batman and Robin as well. It centers much around the relationship between Bruce and Damian and how they play of each other, and that dynamic works really great imho. Batman Incorporated is a bit of an aquired taste, but if you like what Morrison has done before, I'm sure you'll love it as well!

The other titles in the Bat-family mainly revolves around other characters, but there are some gems there as well. I'd recommend Batgirl, Batwoman and also Catwoman. Nightwing is a bit of a hit or miss, but when it's good, it's really good.

Nightwing is the one I've been thinking of picking up lately. But gathering #1-11 or even 12 in some cases has been somewhat of a headache and I can't not try and get them all. I wish there were as many iterations of Superman as there are of Batman. Have you checked out Earth 2? I know it's knew but I've heard some great things.

I usually only read in arcs or GN form, so I'm waiting until issue 6 is released of Earth 2 before diving in. It does seem intriguing though...

This is an older run, but I recently read Batgirl: Year One and really enjoyed it. Both Batman and Robin play a prominent role in the story.

Earth 2 right now is probably my favorite out of all the DC lineup. It is nice seeing a different spin on some characters.
