R:FoM splitscreen multiplayer online - Blu-ray Forum

I know that Resistance doesnt have an online multiplayer option. And what I mean by that is playing online in a 40 player game and i have a friend at my house playing with me on a split screen. Halo has this option, and although i dont really like halo, it was fun playing at my friends house with 4 of us playing on one team. I was just wondering if they could release an "add-on" that would allow for 2 players using one system to play split screen online.

They're much more likely to put the effort into doing this for RFoM 2 now but it's possible.

Haze supposedly has it too.

As for the R:FOM lack of it, probably due to low interest in the feature at the time of the game's development and to not delay the game beyond the PS3 launch date.

Well I for one hope they add it, its a long wait until Resistance 2.

They have said multiple times on their website, they are aware of that want, and will be adding it into Resistance2, but they really can NOT add it into 1, as it is a huge undertaking on an already developed product.. they really cannot justify the development time it would take to implement this as it would not really pay of on an already sold product.

It will be in 2 although, they gave several reasons why it was not in 1, but development time is the big one, resistance was a launch game, and alot went into making it available for launch.

like other poster said, warhawk has it, and most likley these 2nd gen PS3 games will have it as well..

yay for R:FoM... i just beat it the other night (lol, it got annoying the last few levels)... i'm playing it over on hard with the new weapons

I am thinking about selling Resistance to help pay for all these other games coming out.

It is too late to add split screen. With Warhawk, COD4, Killzone 2, Socom, Haze all out by end of year I doubt anyone will be playing Resistance much. They should have added it after a month or two of release with an update. That way you could get your friends playing a PS3..

I haven't tried it but I've read that it's as simple as pressing the start button on the 2nd controller.

I have tried it, and that works. Although you cannot do that in ranked rooms, must be in unranked or rooms that allow mult-player online from one console.. works good..
