Default Amazon Japan HD Disc Sales...no contest

http://www.eproductwars.com/dvd-jp/
Of particular interest is the fact that hd dvds 2nd highest seller in Japan ranks 2,739, blu-ray's 2nd title ranks 119. The 20th highest blu in Japan ranks 1,425. Blu-ray's 20th top seller sells almost twice as well as hd dvds #2.

don't ever expect hd dvd going up to the level of BD in japan. BD even beats DVD and CD sales on amazon JP. (last july, all but one of top 20 are BDs)

As much as I think that it's never going to happen. If BD did somehow manage to lose the format war in the states, we could always import from Japan and Europe where BD is clearly going to win. Just kinda reassuring to those that fear BD could actually die. It could never die, whereas if HD loses in the states, it's done!

Yeah if Blu couldn't win in their own back yard then it would probably be time to abandon ship.

BD is way far ahead in the format war in JP and I don't think HD DVD can catch up BD by any means. May be the studios and Toshiba can try to give small goosebumps that will have no lasting effect.
