Mill Creek Entertainment Licenses 250 SPHE Titles for U.S. and Canadian DVD and Blu-ray Distribution

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, April 23, 2012 – Mill Creek Entertainment, a leading home entertainment distribution company has just inked a home video distribution deal with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) covering US and Canadian territories. Under the licensing agreement Mill Creek Entertainment will distribute 250 films from the legendary SPHE catalog via a wide variety of DVD and Blu-ray compilations and collections to Mill Creek’s extensive network of traditional and non-traditional retail partners.

• Hudson Hawk - Reported by DMRI2006. Hudson Hawk "is most definitely mono. It comes up as 2-channel DTS MA but it's flat and is all coming out of the center channel. There's no stereo separation whatsoever I could detect at any point. Just FYI... " (Originally released as a Walmart Exclusive. Reportedly corrected for wide release. It's not even the films themselves, as actually I might have been interested in several just in this first wave if released solo (or even a "decent" looking double feature I would deal with). It's just that the 4-pack pretty much confirms these as being hot-garbage.

Hero is 1992 Stephen Frears release (worthwhile).

And the BD releases seem like double features unlike the DVD releases.

On DVD they are 4-packs. Not BD. Those sell sheets are to confirm those titles have been licensed by Mill Creek. The actual releases are the 4-pack DVD releases.

Oh, I gotcha.

So really those sell-sheets are just a hint at "possible titles", not necessarily immediately relevant to their blu-ray plans. Thank goodness.

I don't mind multi packs *(2 movies 1 disc at most), but packaging two or more completely unrelated movies kills me, my shelves would puke those sets up...

I'm curious about the sell sheet for The Fan (1996). What are the other 3 movies that it would be packed with (on the dvd)? I could go for a double feature blu-ray of The Fan/Relentless.
