Default Van Damme vs Seagal

Which action icon do you prefer. The roundhouse kick's from Jean Claude Van Damme or the snapping neck power of Steven Seagal?

Van Damme for me, Segal just got quieter and quieter as he aged.. almost to a point of whispering. His cool calm collective just got a little boring..

In a straight up fight Van Damme would win.

Van Damme is constantly training and is still in great shape, Seagal on the other hand since Glimmer Man he has been getting more out of shape as the years go on.

So one 360 kick to the gut and Seagal is done.

And what the heck was that ad about?

Van Damme: "My pants froze and got tighter." WTF?

Without a doubt Van Damme. Loved Bloodsport, Timecop, Sudden Death, etc.

Van Damme. He's a good actor when given the right material and he's still in incredible shape. Seagal is neither and he never was a good martial artist. Gene LeBell literally beat the shit out of Steven Seagal. And I do mean literally. Seagal is a scumbag.

JCVD for the win. He has some acting skills, great physical skills and he aged well which is something I can't say for Seagal.

Wow is this even a fair comparison? Van Damme is in another league of badass compared to Seagal, Van Damme's films are much more re-watchable as well.

Seagal had much better success via the Hollywood studio system (hell, he was the lead in his film debut), and probably has the biggest critical and financial success between the two with Under Siege. Which probably means Seagal's fall was greater, now that he's out of shape and slumming it in really bad movies where he can't even be bothered to do his own stunts or post-production dubbing. Meanwhile, at least Van Damme tries harder to entertain.

I went with Van Damme only because I like a few more of his movies. But Seagal is the real deal as a fighter. I really want to vote for Chuck Norris.

not even a comparison. Van Damme all the way. Seagal made some decent movies but dive bombed BADLY in his DTV career. Van Damme has been entertaining in even his DTV stuff and is not a bad actor if given the proper material.

Van Damme is still in shape, Seagal is a bloated mushroom who can't even keep his weight under control or bother to do a proper post dub in his movies.

in terms of skill, van damme all the way. seagal wasn't bad but as a fighter he's junk. Lebell beat him senseless without even trying. Van Damme actually was a pretty solid fighter in his younger days.

Van Damme just because I've watched and rewatched his movies more but Seagal was pretty awesome too. There's a youtube video of all the limb breaks in Seagal's movies that gets almost comical after a few minutes

JCVD all the way, I couldn't even make it 10 minutes into any Steven Seagal movie.
