Amazon Amazon banning customers for excessive returns/complaints

Just got an email stating that my account is closed due to excessive negative complaints & returns.

Hello,

A careful review of your account indicates that you've requested replacements or refunds on a majority of your orders for a variety of reasons.

In the normal course of business, we expect there may be occasional problems. However, the rate at which such problems have occurred on your account is extraordinary, and it cannot continue. Effective immediately, your Amazon.com account is closed, and you will no longer be able to shop in our store.

All other accounts related to yours have also been closed. If you were to open a new account, it would also be closed. We will not accept the return of any additional orders placed under a new account, and we won't issue further refunds for those orders. We appreciate your cooperation.

Going forward, any questions must be directed to cis@amazon.com. Please do not contact Amazon's Customer Service department, as they will no longer be able to assist you.

Best regards,

Account Specialist
Amazon.com

The problems are all shipping related...either receiving damaged items due to improper packaging, late deliveries and/or missing deliveries.

I have received numerous orders via UPS and Lasership which the packages has been physically "thrown" onto my porch from 6 steps down from the sidewalk. This includes my Oppo BDP-93 and Panasonic blu-ray player.
They almost always toss my blu-ray movies and hardly ever place them in my mailbox.

How lazy can they be?

Lucky, my Plasma TV didn't suffer from the same fate!

Fed Ex and A-1 Couriers were the only shippers that I didn't have any problems with.

Due the damaged, I would complain and request a replacement or refund and returning the damaged item back to Amazon.

I guess I reported these issues too many times and they decided to close my accounts.

Has anyone experienced this?

Looks like my only other alternatives are Best Buy and Target now.

then you should have taken out with UPS not the amazon sellers. You were just ripping off people one by one.

Damn Amazon be mad.

I guess if you were aware that it was the courier who was at fault you should have taken it up with them instead of demanding replacements from Amazon....looks like they've had enough and snapped.

You should have definitely taken it up with the couriers. What Amazon did is a little drastic though.

I agree. It is not Amazon's fault, it was the shipping company's fault.

While I'm not saying the OP's behavior is correct and legitimate, your statement isn't either. The shippers are covered by the insurance of the carriers and claims can only be made by the shipper, not the person receiving the items.

Amazon is apparently banning people left and right now. Check out this thread on another forum:

http://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk/...hammer-me.html

The moral of the message seems to be never actually use Amazon's return policy, lest you want your account examined.

Everytime I read one of these stories it scares me b/c I do most of my movie/book business w/Amazon. I've had my fair share of returns due to damaged items, missing items, entire packages missing w/Amazon. I don't know if they would consider it excessive, but in my mind I tend to think it is. As soon as I read this post I went to check my own email.

Thumbs down

First, whats the point of posting this???

Second, like a few have already posted, its the shipping companies problem not Amazon

Third, are you expecting some sympathy from us on the boards that Amazon did what I would of done in their position?? Your the person , it seems, that rules and limits are made because of

Fourth, a mod should just lock, or even better, delete this thread...its pointless

The last "I got banned from Amazon" thread was so much fun, this one is really going to have to take off to deliver.

Yep.

I've returned things to Amazon over the years. Maybe a couple of items a year if that all for real reasons. Most were from fullfilled by Amazon sellers and I either received the wrong item or it was damaged and not in the condition described.

I don't know, I think if this happened to me it would serve as a wake up call.

Too many people treat these movies like they are priceless artifacts. They go over the packaging like it's a fine diamond. One crease in the precious slip cover and it's returned.

A little dose of reality is a good thing. When you order something online and it's shipped slight damage to a piece of cardboard covering the plastic case may be incurred, LOL.

I'm not aiming this at the OP, I have no idea what he returned, but like another poster stated, he probably should have alerted the delivery company instead of returning everything.

My opinion is WAY in the minority here, I know. I admit I don't know all the details either. But having been a member here for some time and seeing the level of obsession people fall into, that's the impression I get.

I received an email from amazon.com about a month ago stating that due to a high amount of returns that they would be watching my account and could possibly ban me. I can't help it if they kept sending me the Lord Of The Rings box set with mislabled discs or the Buffy and Angel box sets of DVDs were so scratched that the players wouldn't even read the discs. I have also had two orders where things were missing. They also sent me a Chinese knockoff Beatles In Mono box set.

FYI, I did contact both UPS & Lasership, but was directed to the shipper (Amazon).
The shipper was responsible due to my previous status as a Prime member.

I have not been dishonest toward Amazon. I just expect to receive my orders as promised and the conditions which is stated.

Last fall, I had to return three 65" plasmas to Amazon because of issues (one was damaged, one had horrible screen uniformity, and the other had incurable fluctating brightness) and was afraid I would get banned, but I did not as I kept the 4th one. I've also ordered a number of movies, books, and a bike from them in the past and never returned anything.

Are you sure the Beatle set wasnt actually the discs pressed in Japan?
All the Mono sets were made in Japan
