Default IT'S TOURNAMENT TIME! (read inside)

I figured since most games/tourneys were located here, I decided to make one of my own.

As a time waster over my Labor Day weekend, I took a grand majority of my Blu-rays and stuck them in a big tournament. 64 titles in all!

For those wondering, there are titles not yet listed on my profile, and there are titles I excluded from the listing (like big box sets, TV season sets, and multiple-movie packs containing more than one disc).

Before I start the tournament (which I've got down in a notebook on my desk), can I get a show of hands of who wants to see this?

Well I don't quite get what you're doing, are you putting your films in a cage and see them tear each other apart to see which comes out victor or something?

Seems interesting enough, I might try something similar, although I don't get the idea

I should have explained it better, here it is:

I wrote down most of my Blu-rays in a notebook on my desk. I didn't include big box sets (so Game of Thrones, Alien Quadrilogy, Casablanca, Godfather Coppola, Looney Tunes Platinum Collection, Mel Brooks Collection) and WWE titles, which are a completely different entity in my collection.

I then put all the titles in alphabetical order (save for one I forgot until the very end), and did a tournament bracket with them.

I'll do an example of the match-ups on tap:

The first match contains the first title listed alphabetically and the last title (which is 64th) listed alphabetically, which in this case is 300 and Zombieland.

That happens until we get to the middle of the list, which is 32nd and 33rd.

This might look confusing at first, but trust me when I tell you this will all play out better in motion.

By the way, The Shawshank Redemption was literally the last title put down in the list because I forgot I had it until I was done writing the tournament, and realized I had a free spot

I'll be starting the countdown in a little bit. Here is a sample list of movies in the hunt for the glory (no alphabetical order):

Pulp Fiction
The Adventures of Robin Hood
Inception
Toy Stories 1, 2, and 3
Lion King
All three Austin Powers movies
Fight Club
The Shining
Talladega Nights
Both Hangovers
FOUR Batman movies

And a whole bunch more!

So what's the point of this? What happens to the title you end up with, or the last two? You just watch them?

I've watched them all buddy. It's just a tournament to see which one is the best of them all. The competition is STACKED, and some of the matchups to decide are more painful than un-numbed surgery.

The one thing I would find a bit boring after a while (depending on what time frame you give yourself for watching them) is that you will have to see many movies twice and some up to 6 more times in order to complete this. I don't mind seeing movies multiple time as long as enough time between them otherwise I just start losing interest.

Alright, here's the winners:

Zombieland
The Adventures of Robin Hood (the one that made Errol Flynn famous)
American Psycho
Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery
Wall Street (yes, even with the video problems)
V for Vendetta
Batman 1966 (more sentimental with brandy snifters)
Batman 1989 (Blockbuster is where I got that cool toy.)
Toy Story 3
Toy Story 2 (originally Beerfest, but changed my mind)
Blues Brothers
Braveheart
Cars
Superbad
Clerks 2 (Spiderman 2 originally won this out, but alas, changed mind again)
The Dark Knight
Snow White
Silence of the Lambs
Fight Club
Forrest Gump
Goodfellas
Grumpy Old Men
Pulp Fiction
Planet Terror
Pineapple Express
The Nightmare Before Christmas
The Muppets
Inception
The Incredibles
The Lion King

The tournament's been done, but I am doing that dick TV-style "hold off the reveal" deal. I've watched all of them, so the picking is pretty much done on what I remember. I'll admit pretty soon I might say, "Dammit, shouldn't have picked that one, " on a few, but as of right now, pretty content with my winners.
