Hi Yann,

All will be revealed on the morning of Friday 28th September. If you go to any reputable online retailer they should have this detail then.

Kind Regards,

Oh so now you get the special features disc only if you get the 3D version, this is the same game the studios were playing to coax people to buy BD's instead of DVD's. Wasn't too interested in re-watching the film anyway so screw this.

Before 3D, we used to have normal single disc DVDs and Collector's Edition DVDs with an extra bonus features disc for around 200r.s more. This is the same case, the only difference being that you get a 3D disc as well. I don't see why this is such a big problem.

Contrary to all Negative revs, this is one movie which I felt to re watch the very next show the moment I step out of the theater...This would be my First 3D BD.

Don't hold your breath . It's probably not gonna happen anytime soon.

Besides, it's one the best looking movies ever, right up there with Avatar. And the special features are spectacular.

There is supposed to be 62 seconds worth extra footage due to featuring of alternate opening or ending but I am not sure.

Interesting how Indian releases look pretty inconsistent with their international counterparts, well, if Flipkart description is anything to go by. They've been quite inconsistent (as always) with their product description. The 3D edition is listed as a 2 disc set, while another non 3D edition is a 3 disker??!!! Oh well, and now they list the number of discs for the steelbook edition as 3. I remember seeing it as 4 until late last month. Not sure if the 3rd disc is the bonus BD, or the DVD of the film. I would love the Steelbook but in the view of the recent Avengers local BD fiasco, I'm really not willing to give local releases a chance. I think I'll end up importing a copy of collector's edition from the States. At least it will come with a lenticular slipcover and peace of mind.

flipkart sucks when it comes to description , when i started buying blu ray , i brought Jurassic park from flipkart they mentioned its 5 disc set , i was surprised everywhere it is 3 disc how they have 5 disc , when i got i gave them feedback to rectify it to 3 disc , they cancelled my feedback and said to rewrite without the info . i said well correct it then , they haven't changed it.lol still shows 5 disc even after 8 months or 10 i guess

Review Up

Excerpts from the official review on this site:

3D:

And then we come to the film's use of 3D, which is some of the best I've seen outside of all-CGI movies. If you saw the 3D version of Prometheus in theaters, you'll already have a good idea of what to expect on Blu-ray, namely, lots of depth and little-to-no projection. That is, you'll spend a lot of time looking into your screen—which becomes a kind of portal through which to view a 3D diorama—but you won't find any leap-out-of-the-TV-and-jab-you-in-the-eye gimmickry, which may work in horror films or cartoons, but would only cheapen the experience here. And because there are no objects jutting out towards you, you don't have to worry about the roughly 2.39:1 frame cutting anything off. (No, there's no 1.78:1 "open-matte" version available.) There are a few longer landscape shots where no dimensionality is apparent, but most of the time there's a clear and natural-looking distinction between foreground objects and their backgrounds. There are definitely some "showpiece" 3D shots, like the landing sequence, the silica dust storm, and the engineer holograms, but the 3D effect is most impressively used to add a degree of realism to some of the more mundane scenes, like when Holloway stares into the mirror of his cabin, noticing there's something unusual in his eye. Or Shaw lying on the all-white operating table. Clarity and color both hold-up well, and there are no unusual 3D anomalies to report. Of course, the effect will be better on bigger screens—and the amount of ghosting/doubling you experience will depend on the quality of your TV/projector/glasses—but in general, Prometheus' 3D Blu-ray replicates the theatrical experience rather well.

Audio:

Turn off the lights, crank up your receiver, and settle in—Prometheus's lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 surround track is one to savor, particularly if you've got a home theater setup capable of bringing the aural goods. This mix just doesn't quit; from start to finish it delivers room- quaking dynamics, pristine clarity, and polished, realistic, puts-you-right-in-the-middle-of-the-action sound design. From the opening scene on the barren planet Earth we get deep sub-woofer engagement, the lapping, crashing, and bubbling of a massive waterfall, and the thunderous rumble of an alien ship overhead. The sense of all-surrounding immersion is near-constant from here forward. Bleeps and bloops and the hush of processed air aboard the Prometheus. Sirens wailing in the rears. Dripping rain. Convincing cavernous reverb. The whipping of a monster's tendrils. Debris from an explosion rocketing through the soundscape. Silica dust clinking furiously as a storm blows across LV-223. Fifield's mapping "pups" as they zoom off through underground corridors. There's not a scene where the audio isn't lushly and thoughtfully arranged. Just take the actors' voices, which—besides being well-balanced and easily understood—always reflect the acoustics of their surroundings, flatter aboard the ship, slightly muffled inside their helmets, echoing and wet inside the pyramid. All this is backed up by Marc Streitenfeld's enormous-sounding orchestral score, which alternates between quiet uneasiness and sheer bombast.

Overall:
Prometheus is much better than the sum of its flaws. In a time when epic, high-concept science fiction films are few and much too far between, it stands as a monolithic achievement in scope and style. Those still disappointed by the "lack of answers" should be patient—a sequel is already in the works. Until then, we can all bide our time with this fantastic Blu- ray release, which features a stellar audio/video presentation and the most comprehensive collection of extras I've encountered since the Alien Anthology, including two commentary tracks, thirty-seven minutes of deleted scenes, a three-and-a-half hour making-of documentary, and much more. Expect to see this multi-disc, 3D edition of Prometheus on many Best Blu-ray Releases of 2012 lists. Our highest recommendation!

Now I'm worried. I have ordered http://www.flipkart.com/prometheus-m...MDD4JFT6U57GMG which says 2 Discs, from cover art assuming both are BDs one for movie and another for Special Features. Hopefully I'm not wrong.

Video Encoding:
Region A , B , C & Pal 2 , 5

Which means the other disc is a DVD, if Flipkart's crappy description is anything to go by. I would advise you to wait or shoot a mail to excel regarding the contents of this two disc set. However, I know for sure that the steel book edition is complete with the bonus disc, and is the definitive release of the film in India.

I might be wrong but my observation is unlike Disney, EXCEL do the pressing of the Discs here @ Sony lab but the actual encode they use one made for International Market. On the other hand Disney do a whole new encode for Indian Market Ex: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End which got DTS HD MA where the whole world got LPCM. That's one reason I still trust Excel releases most of the time when they include Extras.
