Default Will this work ok?

Just want to check before buying. If I have a 1.3 player like the samsung 1400 that can send DTS-MA and a 1.3 receiver that can decode DTS-MA like Denon, will it still work if there's a 1.2 TV connected? I'm wondering if the whole chain gets downgraded to the lowest common rev, preventing the DTS-MA from coming across.

Thanks.
