(Which would normally go in Newbies column, as this would probably be the ultimate Newbie comment, except that it isn't a question: )
Have I mentioned up until now, I bought my first HDTV last August, and got my first PS3 set up over the weekend, and...I've still never actually SEEN 1080 Blu-ray movies in my life? (Except for maybe a demo disk of "Chicken Little" at Best Buy displays?) Oh, sure, I know what HDTV broadcast looks like, and I've seen HD on-demand movies that I couldn't verify whether or not they were being shown in 1080... But see, problem is, when I bought the PS3, there were only three or four movies released that I actually wanted to come home with, and they were all sold out--My five free movie deal (or two, actually, since the selection wasn't great) doesn't even get in the mail until Monday, and I held off on switching over my Netflix, so I have to wait till after the weekend to see if there's a copy of Fantastic Four for rental. So, all this time, I've pretty much been taking all your word on good faith that this stuff actually looks good. Until tonight, when--for lack of any other source--I finally worked the bugs out of registering for PSUnderground, downloaded the Paramount HD trailer to "Iron Man" in Full 1080, and, uhh....zoinks. ![]() Okay, looks good. I'm sold. Now, bring on those Netflix rentals and free disks!--I wanna see what I bought! ![]() |

Oh, well, y'see, I'm even more patient than that--
Unlike most of the "I'm rushing out and buying 'Underdog' the day it's released!" crowd, I've been around long enough since the birth of DVD to know what "rental" is ![]() Which, at the moment for Blu, constitutes Chicago, Unforgiven, and Chronos, and again, it was 0 for 3 at the impulse-shopping trip. So, as DeepDiscountDVD usually has their online Annual 10% Off sale sometime in November, I figured it'd be more profitable to wait it out a few more weeks... Now, if you'll excuse me, I've just got to go off and explode. ![]() |
