What about inkjet printable discs? Using a special printer, you can print directly onto the disc.

Well you can either get discs that have a printable surface, or discs that have a burnable surface. However both of these as far as I know are only on DVD right now. I do not know if there are printable surface BDs yet, and I highly doubt there are burnable surface BDs.
Burnable surface DVDs require a special DVD burner that can use the same laser it burns the data with on the other side of the disc to make a pattern, be it a picture or words. The end result is a cool holographic like effect. But it is hard to read, requires certain discs and certain drives, and are expensive and not common. I'm sure you can just get a printable surface BD. |

I am not sure if you are talking about blank BD or DVD.
If you are talking about DVD, you can use Lightscribe technology (by HP). You need a special disc for that, and also the compatible drive. You just need to insert it to the computer, and design the label on your computer. WHen the disc come out, it's already labeled. IMO, don't ever use labeler (made of sticker). It will destroy your drive. I got 2 drives destroyed by my frequent use of those labels. Never again with BD drive. |

I have had great success burning my Blu-Ray content on Imation BD-R inkjet printable media:
http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/def...px?EDC=1176095 This, in combination with Premiere Pro + Cineform Access HD for editing HDV and Roxio DVDit Pro HD to author, and the software with my Epson R1800 printer, makes a complete toolbox. |
