Default Recent Boost in Web Site Users

I just noticed something interesting. If you go to the main forum page and look at how many people are actually on the boards at any given time, the numbers have gone up dramatically. More specifically, I recently saw that the number of guests on the boards is over 1000 and wanted to see what other people thought about this.

Could we be seeing the initial results of Disney's Blu-Ray Tour? People go to the mall on the weekend and see this thing called Blu-ray. They want to learn more about it, so they point their web browser in the direction of, where else, blu-ray.com. If this is true, we could have a whole bunch of potential buyers just waiting in the wings trying to make the decision whether or not to take the jump into the big Blu ocean.

I propose that we should limit the fanboy bashing of HD-DVD to a minimum and only concern ourselves with cold, hard facts about the war in order not to turn off these potential Blu-ray supporters. This is the critical time in the war. We need to have all the supporters we can get.

I noticed that earlier today. At one time, there were over 400 users in this sub-forum alone. Normal daily average seems to be around 100-150.

It's because of this:
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=20553

The session time used to be 15 minutes, we increased it to 60 minutes, so we've actually had this many users online (within 60 minutes) all the time. That being said, we are growing slow but steady

I'm somewhat new

I've gotten hooked to this site because of the reliable hot deals section. The somewhat advance notice of sales and buying tips have helped me add more value to my collection.

And the added bonus of home theatre tech tips, movie updates & reviews, and blu news has kept my interest. It's also nice to find a blu/ps3 friendly area because I'm tired of retailers and tv catering to the 360.

It also helps that the average person who's interested in blu-ray for the first time will plug in bluray.com on the internet and arrive here.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Last time I went to HD-DVD's forum, there was like 8 people online. You could hear the crickets and then a tumbleweed rolled by. That's probably why they all hang out at AVS. They're displaced immigrants.

I think allot of casual fans and curious people wanting to learn more about HDM are poking around.

This is a great thing!

We should try to get all these people on board!
Each person that can become part of this team is one step closer to winning this format war. Also one less that gets brainwashed by the HD-DUD propaganda machine.

It's also very important NOT to jump down peoples throats when they first post a redundant thread. I notice that it happens allot. They are here to learn and be a part of Blu-ray. Everyone here had a first day at one time or another. Show people that Blu-ray is better, the format and the people backing it.
