You would think so. Halloween was an independent movie (anchor bay owned the rights), but Nightmare on Elm Street is a New Line movie. I would not expect to see Nightmare anytime soon.

Nighmare is Newline, so I guess it is possible. It would probably look terrible though since it is a very low budget movie. The first 1-8 Friday the 13ths are Paramount, so not anytime soon. Maybe Freddy VS Jason, that is Newline again.

probably not this year...since the "horror window" before Halloween is closing. I could be wrong, but I'd say look for them next year around this time.

An that's the one I prefer. The UK version is the uncut version.Kevin Bacon's death scene is more bloody in the uncut version.
I wish I could find uncut versions of Friday the 13th parts 2-8?

The sold the property of Friday the 13th to New Line....but still retain distribution rights to the first eight films.

I'd love New Line to make a move towards putting Nightmare out on Blu Ray. But at this point, you probably have a better chance at getting some of there newer offerings ( like say, their Texas Chainsaw Massacre remakes).

Paramount, MTV Films and New Line Cinema are supposedly working together on the remake.
