Default BD-R Write Speed

Hello all,

I am using the LaCie D2 Blu-Ray drive, Sony 2X 25GB (BNR25A) media and Roxio Creator 8.2 XE. I have tried connecting thru both FW and USB but can not get a write speed above 0.97. Roxio reports that the max target is 2X as I have selected but it never even gets to 1X. It's taking over 90 mins to write a full disk!

Am I missing something here?

Thanks...

Saw this in a nother thread relating to this issue...

This is actually normal. The software is telling your drive to verify the data, which makes it look like you're writing at only 0.8x. With some software, you can disable this feature.

This "verify" option is available in Roxio 8.2 XE but I have not activated it. If it makes a difference, I am writing data backups.

Any other input greatly appreciated.
