India/Bollywood Anybody in India using Amazon Prime?

I signed up for a one month free trial of Amazon Prime today. At first I thought it wouldn't go through but it said that I'm now a Prime member. Unfortunately for us international customers, we still don't get the shipping cost benefits.

But there is a way to get around the Video Streaming restriction. All you have to do is enter these two DNS numbers in your computer's/PS3's network settings.

DNS numbers:
Preferred DNS server: 109.123.111.24
Alternate DNS server: 190.14.36.90

Detailed Instructions for every device:

The first one month of Prime is free. Prime members have access to loads of movies and TV shows free of charge .I'm currently watching The Lincoln Lawyer on my TV right now .

Check it out guys, especially since 90% of you already have Amazon.com accounts and the first month being free.

Thanks Srinivas for this great information you have provided about the DNS settings

I became a Amazon Prime member in November, just because initially I bought few Bluray items delivered to US, so that my friend can bring them to me. Now, I have registered for the yearly membership now and paid $79 for this. It's because I am really looking forward to buy many HiFi items from Amazon US by next year. Even one of my close friend residing at US is frequently using my account to get benefit of the 2 day free shipping. At the end, it has come out pretty good, as we guys have saved around $300 of shipping cost so far.

Again, Thanks for the great information above. I can really stream lot of videos free from Amazon.com

Just remember to check off the auto renewal option otherwise you'll be charged next month and will have to get the payment reverted. Its checked by default.

You're welcome . The same DNS numbers work for Hulu and Netflix as well.

I'm thinking about keep it... 75$ for loads of free streaming sounds pretty good to me. Especially since I'm currently paying 50$ for 3months for Hulu Plus. Besides, I was planning on getting Star Trek The Original Series (around 170$), which is available for free for Prime members. Even on a 512kbps connection, I can easily stream 480p which looks good (between a DVD and a 720p YouTube video) on a 32inch TV. That quality is fine for most sitcoms and comedy flicks. I'll no longer have to purchase titles like 'Jack and Jill' or 'Mr Popper's Penguins' for 17$ each .

I seldom use any of the prime benefits other than the 2 day shipping but I keep getting suckered into renewing my Prime at $39/yr - I get this offer every time I go to cancel. I originally signed up for the 2 year free trial a while ago.

Unhappy Still works?

Does this workaround still work? I've tried this but unable to use Amazon prime services from India. In fact when set these values I'm not able to access internet. Anyway out?? I've been paying the prime membership for no good reason

No, those DNS numbers no longer work. Only way to access Amazon Prime/Netflix/Hulu/Google Video is to sign up for something like this: https://www.unblock-us.com

I'm just so glad iTunes doesn't have region restrictions.
