Teaser cenematic trailer for CD Projekt RED's (Witcher dev) next game Cyberpunk 2077. It's been described as an RPG. I'm figuring that this will definitely be a PC game but not sure about consoles.
Here is a 2012 Summer Conference video in which the game was initially announced and some info provided by the creator around 6:50 minute mark. Dude's voice is awesome: Last edited by doctorD; 01-10-2013 at 10:21 PM. |

Also on feb 5th they are announcing another game in long standing series which means Witcher 3 as that is the only other franchise they have as far as I know.
As for cyber punk....Could be awesome but the teaser is a little lame. Which these companies would get the message ad stop using CGI and give us actual game play or at least in engine stuff. |

Well now we know lol. Looks like they got pretty close with the in-game graphics to that old CGI teaser in the end.
Sad to see that all the Cyberpunk 2077 threads here are in the console forums and the only thread in the PC gaming one is this 7 years old one lol!! Surely I'm not the only PC gamer here excited about this one?? Granted I'm more of a retro gamer and I don't even have a PC good enough to run this thing haha but as a huge Blade Runner, Altered Carbon, Judge Dread, Blood Dragon, Tron, Synthwave and all things Cyberpunk fan I just couldn't resist this game and pre-ordered a physical collectors copy. I'm not a huge 1st person shooter guy (getting old and don't have the reflexes lol) so I may end up just driving around the city at night taking in all the sights. I've been drooling over all the night wire and teaser videos CD Projekt Red have been releasing on youtube lately. |

Aaaaannnnnd it's been delayed again lol! Doesn't bother me as like I said previously I don't have a computer that can run it anyway haha. Apparently the devs have been getting death threats from impatient wackos out there though which is a bit messed up!
Maybe all those impatient ones should check out what I just found... Today I noticed a review in a recent PC Gamer magazine of a small indie game called 'Cloudpunk' that has you piloting a flying taxi around a rainy cyberpunk city at night. Looks and sounds awesome as that cockpit has massive Blade Runner vibes, the taxi reminds me of 5th Element and that creepy stormy sky reminds me of Highlander 2 lol! Apparently there's not much depth to the gameplay sadly as it's more about immersion. However considering I was more looking forward to driving around Cyberpunk 2077's city at night listening to synth tunes instead of just running around shooting people then I suspect this little game will be right up my alley haha! Apparently you get your own apartment in a sky scraper with a balcony looking over the city that you can decorate and play retro video games in, so hmm yup that's got me written all over it too lol! Although yet again my old computer probably can't even run this one either arrrgh haha! ![]() |

12 hours in so far, very immersive high quality experience even despite the technical issues. I myself had a few minor bugs, nothing game breaking, the worst is that I get off and on lag when driving the city (regardless of my graphics settings). With that said this is fantastic so far, one side mission was also really laugh out loud hilarious (especially if you're a Portal fan like me). I've barely scratched the surface of this game, it's huge and detailed without seeming tedious and boring. Yeah, the technical stuff needs ironed out, but besides that this game is really something special.

I've got a 3 year old graphics card and after driver updates it's playable, looks like an XBOX 360 game, but its playable. I imagine this is the experience base XBOX One and PS4 users will have after patches. The PC version will tide me over until I get an XBOX Series X sometime next year

I wasn't planning on getting this game just yet but I finished Assassin's Creed Valhalla already so I figured eh... why not. Sure glad I got this on PC tho. Seems the consoles are having issues. I started off with the graphics settings in a mid to high range and was getting around 70 FPS. Not bad for an 8 year old CPU and recently upgraded 2060 Super GPU. For funsies I upped the graphics to Ultra RTX and was surprised I was still getting around 40 FPS while just walking around. Couldn't drive very fast however as it would bog down to around 10 FPS which is just unplayable. Settled on Ultra (Non-RTX) and turned down a few of the options like film grain turned off and such which provides me a solid 60 FPS while still looking amazing.
Not sure how many hours I've put into the game so far. At level 11 or 12 and still only on Act 2 as I've been trying to do as many side jobs as possible. There are SO many! Don't care for the economics system. You buy something for 20,000 but if you try to sell it you might get 33. Makes me not want to buy anything and just rely on things I loot. Pointless to try and pick up everything you come across to sell either - better off scrapping everything for parts. Pretty much rely on side jobs and access points to get money which so far the only thing I've found useful to spend money on is the cyberwares. Those are harder to come by. |

2070 super here and able to run the game at above 60fps in 1440p on high settings no problem. Only time I encounter frame drops is when im driving through the downtown portion of night city..... then it tanks my frames down to the mid 40s.

Other observations: - Your attributes cap your skill levels. E.g. Handgun/assault/blade skill levels can't be more than your reflex, athletics/annihilation/street brawl can't be more than your body attribute, etc. If your reflex is N and your handgun is at level N, you will stop getting further handgun XP until you put another point into reflex. Some skills level up very fast and can easily be capped before you have a chance to put enough points into the governing attributes. Also, skill leveling yields big rewards (extra perk points, +carry weight, +health regen, etc.). So it is a big problem if you can't level up your skill(s) when it is capped. Also, if you set any of the attributes too low in the character creation, you already limit your skills to a lower level and put yourself at a disadvantage right from the start. - The most frequent glitch I've seen right now is that sometimes you can't pick up items marked as lootable. In almost every place where there is loot, there are always one or two or more unlootable items. They are usually on the ground or whatever surface that may have clipped through the objects. - Double-tabbing the WASD keys makes you dash, which will uncrouch you if you are crouching. Therefore you can't hit the WASD keys too quickly if you are crouching. And you can't disable double-tapping. This is a minor annoyance for me. - But dashing is a fast way to use up your stamina, which helps you level up athletics, probably the slowest skill to level up. - C is the default key for crouching, but is also the key for skipping dialog. If you don't re-map crouching to another key (such as left-ctrl), you will inadvertently skip dialog when you crouch during a conversation. - Braindance editing seems like a great mechanic, in which you explore a pre-recorded video and find clues in it like in an adventure game. I hope to see more challenging instances of this where it's tougher to spot items and/or you are not given clues at all. - Keanu Reeves' character is well cast. If you think of Ma____, it becomes very fitting to have Reeves in this role. |

My old computer was able to do fairly well with the Ultra (Non-RTX) settings until I started getting into places like sneaking into an Industrial Park in the main story line where there are tons of enemies and even more objects the show up with Ping. Having my old computer try to keep track of dozens upon dozens of objects that aren't even in my line of sight really killed my FPS. Running a nearly 10 year old CPU is probably the cause of my issue. But between restarting and lowering everything to medium while going thru that densely populated area worked out just fine then I bumped it back up to either High or Ultra but really hardly noticed any visual difference as the biggest part (Texture Detail) I never changed from it's highest setting. Most of the settings are just little fluff pieces for extra effects but don't really make the main part of the game (characters and buildings) look any different. Really just adds stuff like dust or fog or better lighting to the environment so it seems a little more realistic but overall not needed.

After spending, oh a good 200+ hours into this game, I think I can safely say that we have a good game under all this mess. I hope CD Projekt Red comes through for this game and fixes a lot of it's problems.
If you were to ask me "Jeyl, 200+ hours? What did this game do to keep you invested?" and I've got two simple answers. They're called 'PAX' and 'Target Analysis'. You see, when I play Role Playing Games where I get to decide who lives and who dies, I prefer to play the aggressive pacifist. Back in the earlier Fallout games, this kind of thing was possible if you worked hard enough at it. But in the recent games it's pretty much impossible to NOT kill someone when you're being thrown raiders and rabid ghouls in your direction. With these two pieces of gear that render your weapons non-lethal REGARDLESS of what kind of weapon you're using is such a gratifying experience. My favorite parts are when I Demonhack a whole group to lower their resistance and drop a 'Contagion' hack on one which spreads the contagion to the rest of the group which knocks them all out almost simultaneously. And if that doesn't work and they come looking for me, uh oh! I also installed an optics reboot demon so now they can't see me and if they somehow manage to get off a shot, uh oh! Their weapon is now officially jammed. If only they were capable of giving themselves up before their health dropped to zero. And I can't tell you how awesome it is to finally play a game with a lot of voice acting that finally acknowledges the gender of the character you play. Even BioWare, the company that really pushed the player character being whatever gender you want always finds a way to NOT address your character in the proper pronoun. Sometimes you'll get an instance once or twice, but that's about it. But Cyberpunk? SO MANY MOMENTS! I'm currently on my second play through attempting to get the secret ending that involves getting Johnny's percentage up to 70%. So far all the endings I've played have been bad ones with the exception of the 'Panam' choice which is such a good ending in general. So yeah. I love Cyberpunk 2077. Hopefully this will be a huge wakeup call not only for gaming studios to quit lying and deceiving the world about their titles but also stop this whole crunch practice. Let me emphasize. CRUNCH DOES NOT HELP Here's hoping that bug fixes and new content will be plentiful. |

Has anyone noticed a framerate drop with the latest 1.1 patch? Mine has dropped about 10 fps since the patch. I was getting 57 fps average and now I'm at about 47 (High settings). The strange thing too is, if I drop to medium or low settings, nothing changes, still runs at 47, which previously improved when I tried the lower settings. I've checked and rechecked settings including the max fps, vsync, etc., all are disabled. I grabbed the latest drivers and also ran the file integrity check in Steam which didn't find anything wrong. Google searches were only returning info from the 1.05 patch.
I may try reinstalling, but thought I'd check here first |
