What if some codes become unreadable due to a small dust particle? ![]() I wanna know. ![]() Aside from that, and all the other DRM, once again BD has the advantage over HD DVD. C'mon BDA, launch more! |

As a consumer I'm not sure I can look at a format with "more" DRM and take any benefit from that. I've never ripped a DVD thus I've never stolen a thing from Disney or Fox.
Both companies seem overly paranoid about their movies. Both have supported horrible ideas like DiVX and in Disney's case they actually wanted to market "throw away" DVDs to add to our landfills. I find both studios to be fairly selfish so it is isn't ironic that they'd choose the format that panders to the paranoid. Interesting link though and I'm thankful it was posted because it sheds light on the extra technologies. |

I detest all versions of DRM I want to be able to make a backup of the movie I buy in case I scratch my copy by accident. I want to be able to watch my movies on my computers, Wether it be linux, os x, or windows. I want to have the flexability to be able to take it on my portable video player with me and watch it then. I want to be able to view the content that i've paid for where and when I want to view it. Piracy is an issue yes, but if it was more convient for pirates to obtain the content by paying for then by stealing it then thats how they would do it. Most of piracy IMO especialy music is about convience. Do I really wanna buy another $15 album to have 1 song on the cd be something i like. Do i really wanna drive to the store to get that. Do i want to be able to take my content with me on the go definately. Thats why something like iTunes music store is soo sucessful because you can burn it or take it with you on the go. Though it would be even more sucessful if it allowed you to use other music players other than your iPod.
