5 months is quite long. The minimum these days is 3 months after the Theatrical release the home video can be released.
It used to be 17 weeks until Disney broke the agreement between Cinemas and the studios by announcing they would release Alice in Wonderland 3D just 12 weeks after it's premiere. Cinema operators had attempted to boycott the film but Cineworld were going ahead and showing it forcing the rest of the cinemas to follow. I guess Disney have done something right by the customers after all. Getting us home video release 5 weeks earlier than we used too ![]() |
