Only a DVD packshot on their site for now but Network have it listed for May 27th. I am stoked for this release!

Network personally replied to my email sent on Tuesday saying there are no plans, at present, to release any of the Studio Canal titles they have acquired on Blu-Ray.

I'm gutted too. Hopefully the commentary track by Roger Moore will be carried over from the Cinema Club DVD release. it's excellent!

It's a new listing on their site so could well be some lack of communication within Network. It does seem to be the only title from the deal listed as a BD so far. I'm pretty sure it was hinted as a Blu release on their initial press release too.

Got this on DVD, really like this film. Will be interested to see the PQ/AQ and see if worth the upgrade.

Good Blind buy if you've never seen this.

Network aren't always that forthcoming, i asked them about releasing the Human Jungle, they said no plans, and then within 6 months it was scheduled for a DVD release. Think there is hope!

"we have news concerning Roger Moore-starrer The Man Who Haunted Himself too. During HD transfer for its Blu-ray debut Restoration Colourist Jonathan Wood discovered an additional scene that had not been included in previous DVD releases (though it was present in its original theatrical run and television screenings). Needless to say that this scene has now been reinstated and the film will be released on Blu-ray complete and uncut.

Also unearthed during this process was the discrete music soundtrack for the film, which will be included on the release as a music suite."

Wonder why they are releasing it in academy ratio (4:3) the Anchor Bay DVD was 1.85:1 and it's down as being filmed in this ratio too??

A typo?

I would imagine so, yeah. Seems like they are are giving this a respectful transfer, so they would be shooting themselves in the foot, if they released it in the wrong ratio.

Having seen it on TV a few times in the late 70's/80's and then owning the ABUS DVD I have no idea what was missing! My memory isn't good even at the best of times though.

I understand this release may have been pushed back a month. I may be mistaken, but I think this is correct. Yes, the Network site says 24/06/2013 now rather than 27/05/2013 as before.

A terrific film... my favourite Roger Moore film... well worth the wait.

Yeah, very odd case. I like the slimness of it but I had to look twice to confirm it was a blu-ray!

It's a slim DVD case. Same as PERFECT FRIDAY. Must be Network's new policy for packaging Blu-ray/DVD combo's. Messes up my shelving though!

Oh right, probably had a job lot of slim DVD cases they needed to get rid of!

The idea might be so that it gets displayed in the DVD section of shops rather than solely in the Blu-ray section. More people buy DVDs than BDs, especially back catalogue items, so they would probably sell more copies of it to DVD buyers who might otherwise not see it.
