I don't see any indication of this being a Steelbook yet..You just have a HDN post speculating that it is, with nothing concrete other than a BB product page. One that doesn't even say "BBY" like typical BB exclusives do. It looks like it's just the standard release's product page since there is no other page for the Blu-ray at BB right now. We could get one, but this certainly isn't proof of it.

Hi MifuneFan,

I figured all the same as you.. but then as I thought about it more, I'm pretty sure it will be a steel. Best Buy doesn't normally release a standard 2D for $29.99. That very steep. Also, bluraysteelbooks directly claims it will be a steelbook.

Best Buy routinely changes their description as the release date gets closer so I guess time will tell.

We could check with the folks who run the Best Buy thread, but it might be best for those who have it on pre-order in UK to hang onto it for now.

It's a pre-order price, they're usually pretty high until release week. Les Miserables, Parental Guidance, Killing them Softly, and Rise of the Guardians are all $29.99 too. Bluraysteelbooks is just a front for High-def Ninja. It links directly to a forum post there where people are just speculating.

I'd love for it to be a SB, but If anyone pre-ordered it from the UK, I wouldn't cancel it just yet.

And he's never been wrong? I question where he got word that QT himself is demanding a Steelbook. Current evidence does not point to this being a Steelbook, that's all I'm saying. This is the only page for Django on BD. Does no one find that strange? With every other Steelbook page, there's also a separate page for the regular edition. Plus this does not say BBY or Best Buy Exclusive or anything right now. Things could change, but as stated, I wouldn't cancel UK pre-orders just yet.

No, because he's the foremost industry insider when it relates to steelbooks and has top notch relationships with tons of retailers and studios, If he says something is gonna happen it happens its that plain and simple.

If you are a serious collector then i would suggest lurking / becoming a member over at HDN so you can see first hand.

If it is true I wonder if it will be identical to the one in Canada. With the exception of the bilingual spine of course.
