The free-to-play multiplayer shooter has been a PC exclusive since its launch in 2012, but will now be available on the PlayStation 4.

The Zombie Studios developed sci-fi shooter will continue to be a free-to-play title on PS4, though it hasn't been confirmed whether or not PlayStation 4 users will be able to compete with PC players.

Blacklight: Retribution launched for PC in April last year. Powered by Unreal Engine 3, it was met with positive reviews and has attracted over two million players.

At a PlayStation Indie Arcade event, Blacklight Retribution has been announced for the PlayStation 4. Developed by Zombie Studios, it is the first game from Sony's Pub Fund for the platform.

Liked Tango Down and this on PC but don't see why they are releasing it for PS4 instead of current gen consoles. Unreal Engine 3 doesn't exactly stress the current consoles and this isn't even a good looking UE3 game.

Well, better graphics for one thing. Plus, releasing this early onto PSN when there is little else around would mean that the online won't be dead by next month.

Sony needs more games for it's new console - Win for Sony

PS4 will have less games at launch, so less competition for Blacklight Retribution - Win for Developer

Any of you guys been playing this yet? I downloaded it but it takes forever to try and find a match so I gave up trying after about 10mins

No single player option? I'll download it on monday/tuesday when I get my new jnternet turned on and we'll have a go. Maybe convince my friend to download it too and Genetic Mutation and a few of the guys from the forum

Not being connected to the net is not the best wy to play on PS4 at all compared to PS3 where it wasn't so closely integrated to the experience.

Outta curiosity, what was the title of the zombie mirrors edge type game? I though it was this but evidently i'm wrong in the assumption of the title and gameplay. Also, the review on gamespot also said how painfully long it is to find matches.

I won't be touching any games like this; free to download but you can spend a fortune on in game currency. Just like freemium games on mobiles, this is not what I want to see on PS4 or any console.

This game would seem to be a total failure if it has no single player and you can't ever find a multi-player game.

I managed to find one once and it was so poor I never bothered again, simply a grey, dull corridor shooter. With Killzone and BF4 out there, this is a complete waste of HD space. You'd be better off with Dust 514 on the PS3 which at least has relatively interesting visuals.
