Default Iron Man Marathon May 2, 2013 includes the avengers

this may with the release of Iron Man 3. Some theatres will be doing a marathon. last year they did a marathon for the avengers. now they are doing iron man 3. It will include iron man 1, iron man 2, the avengers and iron man 3. right now I only know about the arclight cinemas in the LA area. however I am sure we will be hearing the news from the theatres like Regal, Cinemark and AMC.

last year the regal cinemas didnt show incredible hulk during the marathon. AMC and cinemark showed all 6 movies. Its possible that some theatres might not play the avengers.

it seems that AMC and regal cancelled the iron man marathon. there is hope for some. http://www.cinemawest.com from california is doing the iron man marathon. if you are still interested.

Tickets are on sale for the Iron Man Marathon on May 2nd. Tickets for the marathon are $20. The marathon includes -
Iron Man (PG-13) - 1:00
Iron Man 2 (PG-13) - 3:30
Marvel's The Avengers 3D (PG-13) - 6:00
Iron Man 3 3D (PG-13) - 9:00

Awesome! Might go see Iron Man 1. I haven't seen it since it was originally in theaters.

I attended the avengers marathon last year. I saw Iron man 1, incredible hulk, iron man 2, thor, captain america and then the avengers. I had missed iron man 2 in the theatre back in 2010. I had some personal stuff going on. it was great to get another chance to watch it.

I literally just yelled YES! out loud. I had a wicked amount of fun at last years marathon and I would love to see them all again. I hope they do a mini-thon for Thor and Captain America when their respective sequels come out.

I'm sooooo excited and I just can't hide it....

Passing on the marathon this time. I am sick of marathon participants getting f*cked out of seeing the IMAX version of the new film whenever they do these. This time I'll just do my own the weekend before.

AMC has stated so far that while they will be doing it, they are still uncertain if Avengers will be included.

p.s. OP your link is an error page

I'll do my own the weekend before. At least at home I can decide when to see them, eat and drink whatever/whenever I want and go to the bathroom whenever I need to.

Why bother when not only is your local theater likely fake IMAX, but also none of these films were shot in IMAX at all? I thought The Avengers was awful in fake IMAX 3D, I actually enjoyed the RealD presentation more.

Yeah, Iron Man 3 will be shown only in Digital IMAX and small IMAX auditoriums, not Giant IMAX.

Fortunately, that's no longer true. Many of the newer digital IMAX theaters are substantially larger than the original "small" digital IMAX theaters.

And because of the success of the digital-only releases of last year's The Hunger Games and The Avengers, many of the original 15/70mm IMAX theaters know where the money's at and have now converted over to digital IMAX, keeping their original theater size. We've seen all of this year's digital-only IMAX movies at our favorite (former 15/70mm) IMAX theater. So, yeah, I'm planning on seeing Iron Man 3 in "Giant IMAX" 3D at some point.

And since Iron Man 2 WAS originally released in IMAX for a limited release, I was hoping that they would do what they did for the Dark Knight marathon, and give you the IMAX option. They would just have to convert the first Iron Man movie to digital IMAX, just like they converted Batman Begins to digital IMAX for the Dark Knight marathon.

But after seeing those pictures of the four Iron Man 3 RealD 3D glasses, I'm assuming they are for the marathon just like the four Avengers RealD 3D glasses were. And since RealD 3D glasses aren't compatible with IMAX 3D, I'm guessing IMAX isn't gonna be an option for this marathon.

In Giant IMAX auditoriums, Iron Man 2 was blown up from a 35mm master. The Bob Bullock IMAX in Austin still does not have digital projectors installed. They have Star Trek Into Darkness and Man of Steel on their schedule, but they will not be showing Iron Man 3.

because whether filmed in IMAX or not, the IMAX screen is substantially larger than the largest "normal" screen in my area. Plus, IMAX is not just about picture size. 50% of the benefit is audio, and the IMAX theater sound blows away that in the non-IMAX theaters.

I'll have to find a better digital IMAX theater... my local one, which recently added IMAX has a screen that is not significantly better and all they do is turn the sound up... I had a headache after The Avengers in IMAX 3D. However, with Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol in real IMAX at the Udvar-Hazy Center... that was the best sound I've experienced in a theater, and the picture was amazing, both the parts filmed in IMAX and those not filmed in IMAX. I have to say I was very impressed with the digital IMAX 3D for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 2, unfortunately the theater I saw it in is hours away. I will have to reconsider what I'll do for the first time I see IM3, if I can find a good enough theater I'll have to do IMAX... definitely not at my local one though.
