the post says it all. is there any chance warner will push this title out on blu?
in the future?
just saw it on tv again.. its been a while and damn i love that classic movie

2009 Would have been the first projected release date, that being the 20th anniversary.
Now, it's assumed there will be a 2013/2014 release for the 25th anniversary.
I don't know what WB has planned, if anything at all.
Morgan Freeman is the single star of this film.
If there were at least one other star (not unreasonable for producers at the time to think would/could happen considering the large number of young actors in it who could have become stars later), it would have provided more motivation to put it on blu-ray already.
While his performance in this was stellar, and it's a very motivational movie, the studio must not see the incentive.
I think it's a shame, personally.
Since it is based on a true story, I really hate seeing a movie like this not get the proper attention it deserves.

Surprised there has not been a Warner Archive release on BD, considering how popular the theme song for this movie is. Freeman was awesome in this.

Been hoping WAC would release this on Blu-ray. Great little movie. I'm not much for the "teacher/principal cleans up the rough school" sub-genre, but this is one I enjoy a lot. Morgan Freeman is dynamite in it.

This is a film I wouldn't mind owning, I would love to get a blu-ray of this one. This was a different type of role for Morgan Freeman and he was great at it.

To me, Lean on Me was Morgan Freeman's best movie and performance. He should've won an Academy Award for this film, he was phenomenal.

This is my wishlist as well. Terrific movie of a true story of principal in high school. Morgan Freeman great job as principal Joe Clark. Joe Clark with the baseball bat the best
