Default Tales of the Night (2011) - Jan 29, 2013

Tales of the Night Blu-ray

Quote:
Each night in a seemingly disused cinema a girl, a boy, the old projectionist Téo and their friend, a scops owl, gather together to design and enact fantastic tales inspired by the folklore and art of different lands and times, assisted by Téo's machines which bring their drawings to life.

I first heard about this film a couple days ago in the "Mature Animated Films" thread and thought it looked amazing! Blind-bought it on Amazon and am now awaiting its arrival, but noticed that there wasn't an existing thread on it.

Anyone have any insight/opinions on this movie?

That thread is where I first noticed it too, and was also floored by the visuals. I'm going to check it out on Netflix first I think.

I haven't purchased it yet... Still waiting for the perfect price point, though I'm starting to think I should have got it when it was $17 on Amazon.

I love Michel Ocelot's films.... Kirikou and the Sorceress and Azur and Asmar are probably the two big ones. Been waiting for a US Blu-ray release of those two forever. Both great, fantastical fairy-tale like films.

I can only expect good things from this.
