I'm a big slasher fan, and there are still so many unreleased titles out there. I have most of these on VHS, but would love to see them get quality releases.
Mirage (1990) - very hard to find, but more than worth the effort. Dear Dead Delilah (1972) - bleak southern gothic slash fest, a true gem. Edge of the Axe (1988) - great Spanish slasher with one of my favorite killer reveals. The Ghost Dance (1980) - underrated blend of Native American mysticism and slasher horror. Whodunit [aka Island of Blood] (1982) - tongue in cheek slasher, utterly charming. Shallow Grave (1987) - intense and overlooked gem. VHS released by Paramount. House of Death (1982) - atmospheric slasher with a likable cast and stunning final girl. Innocent Prey (1984) - fun slasher from the director of Long Weekend. PJ Soles actually gets the lead for a change. Run, Stranger, Run (1973) - somber seaside proto-slasher. Keep My Grave Open (1976) - Brownrigg's best. Fatal Games (1984) - an absolute blast, my favorite sports-related slasher. The Slayer (1982) - eerie little island slasher. Bloodbeat (1983) - surreal samurai slasher. Fatal Pulse (1988) - liked this one a lot more than I expected to. Deadly Lessons (1983) - quality TV whodunit with quite the cast. Deadly Games (1982) - a real oddity, but interesting. Would love to hear what the director has to say about it. Blood Hook (1986) - surprisingly enjoyable comedy slasher. Hanging Heart (1983) - one of the wilder slashers out there. All-American Murder (1991) - intriguing murder mystery on a college campus. Rush Week (1989) - more cheesy college slasher shenanigans Hotline (1982) - solid TV suspense. Out of the Dark (1988) - stylish De Palma-esque slasher. Amsterdamned (1988) - Dutch slasher with a better than typical budget. Demon Warrior (1988) - not as good as The Ghost Dance, but an intriguing Native American slasher all the same. Terminal Choice (1985) - not a full-blooded slasher, but close enough. Pandemonium (1982) - my favorite slasher spoof. From the director of Alice, Sweet Alice, oddly enough. Funeral Home (1980) - I revisited this and loved it the second time around. Now makes my most wanted list easily. Deadly Manor (1990) - while no match for Edge of the Axe, another enjoyable Larraz slasher. Next of Kin (1982) - I consider this more of a haunting mood piece than a slasher, but I will include it on the list regardless. Fantasies (1982) - rare TV slasher with soap stars. He Lives By Night (1982) - haven't seen this Asian slasher yet. Have always wanted to. Too Scared to Scream (1985) - more fun than anticipated; a mixture of slasher, giallo and camp. Terror on Tour (1980) - seems to be mostly despised, but I like it. Phantom of Death (1988) - after the awful Body Count, Deodato redeems himself with this subsequent stab at the sub-genre. Blood Link (1982) - one of the better murderous twin flicks. Good work from Moriarty, and a typically pleasant Morricone score. Blood Theatre Blood Frenzy Slipping into Darkness The House Where Death Lives Have a Nice Weekend Terror at Tenkiller Mongrel Early Frost It'd be cool to see Synapse rescue some of these from obscurity like they did with The Dorm that Dripped Blood. RELEASED Aerobicide (1987) - one of the best cheese-fests in the genre. Blood Rage (1987) - terrific twin slasher. Curtains (1983) - classy Canadian gem. Headhunter (1988) - South African demon stalks Miami as the lovely Kay Lenz investigates. The Mutilator (1985) - classic splatter. To All a Goodnight (1980) - the best of the "killer Santa" flicks.
