I just used Zaavi for the first time ever and got the doomsday collection box set, it was damaged at a couple of corners and was posted in a bubble wrap envelope, I can live with this even though it is really annoying.
THING IS: I want to buy Inception steelbook and the Jaws digibook but will they arrive undamaged? Does Zaavi have special packaging for steels and digis? |

Basically, don't use Zavvi if you're after a collectable slipcase. (I learned that lesson earlier this week when I got my damaged "Dalek Movies Set" slipcase from them).
As for steelbooks, use them if they are the only ones selling the steelbook that you're after. Otherwise, stick with Amazon. |

![]() Yeh this is what my steelbooks have come in lately. It's good to see Zavvi and Amazon using "special" packaging for collectables Last edited by Bobadila; 05-30-2013 at 08:01 PM. Reason: typo |

As you said mate if it's cardboard like a Digibook or Digipak then expect and live with the damage or order from Amazon where you know getting another copy is straight forward. I wish Amazon UK would pack their things better, I had 2 LOST box sets in a row with damage and I've had to pick the best one. The Collect+ drop off points are a pain as well but at least you have thirty days to get to them if they're out of the way. |

Sorry to change the direction of the thread, but earlier on somebody implied Amazon send out used items, is this even if you've selected "new", or is it just people accidentally selecting the wrong thing? (Ordered the Alien Anthology for a ridiculously low price earlier this week, I was certain to check it was flagged as new, and I'll be a bit pissed if they send me a used item)

I think I've had two items that have been used (one was badly damaged) and I had a replacement in my hands within a couple of days. Get on to them straight away and if they don't have a replacement (like they did with another member the other day), ask for a voucher to make the difference. At worst you'll get your money back. So it's worth a shot. It does indeed suck when it happens. Also be aware of limited editions that come back into stock after been OOS or OOP. You may get damaged and/or returned goods. So go over things when you get them, one of your fellow members has probably sent it back! It's not mate. Sometimes I think gravity has it in for us. |

THIS is not the first time I have bought "new" blu rays from Amazon direct and received used discs instead, each time this happens I will be sending it back and I urge everyone to do the same, it should be against the law for Amazon to sell used goods without stating that they are used, I am sure trading standards will have something to say and if it happens again I will be contacting them. |

![]() To the question in hand, they don't really do themselves any favours with the 'fulfilled by Amazon' scheme, it's wide open to misunderstanding. Fulfilled items can be either new or used, however from what I can see there's no distinction on the product page as to which of these the item is. This for example; ![]() Fulfilled by Amazon, it comes from one of their distribution centres, but is it new or used? If however the product has been supplied and sold by Amazon, then no, there's no excuse for then providing used discs. |

It was direct from Amazon, on all occasions, no second or third party involved.
Why any ordinary consumer (such as yourself) would be willing to defend a giant corporation is beyond me, only on the internet do you find such defending and that speaks for itself. |
