Default Mamoru-kun Curse brings Vertical Scrolling Shoot 'em Up to PSN in July

Quote:
Way back in January, we reported that Mamorukun Curse was headed to the PlayStation 3 in North America, and it will be available as a download title on July 16th, UFO Interactive announced today. The game will cost $19.99.

The PlayStation 3 version of Mamorukun Curse has two additional playable characters (Nowa and Rukina) that were released as DLC on the Xbox 360, two extra Netherworld Adventures courses, and alternate costumes for all seven characters. It also has 66 Trophies to unlock.

Here’s a story summary for the game:

Mamorukun and several other Chosen Souls who have been plucked from the realm of the Living and tosses into the Netherworld. Not remembering how they all wound up in such a strange place, the Chosen Souls are immediately ordered by the wholesomely cute and utterly demanding Ms. Fururu, to assist her in restoring balance to the Netherworld and stopping the World of Darkness from taking over. With their newly acquired Curse Powers, the Chosen Souls must fight their way through the Netherworld in order to find and seal the gate that separates the Netherworld from the World of Darkness before it’s too late.

A lolicon anime bullet hell shooter? We've never seen one of those before... sometimes I wonder why these developers even try to stick a story on these games.

But seriously, looks neat, especially since bullet hell shooters are pretty rare on PSN. As long as the collision detection is decent and movement speed is reasonable, I'll probably get it (I'm looking at YOU Soldner-X: Himmelsturmer).

I suppose you forgot about the Rockin' Android games on PSN. Though Mamoru-kun was a retail title in Japan hence why it has 66 trophies with a platinum. There used to be a demo for this on the Japanese PSN Store which I played.

I said bullet hell shooters are rare on PSN, and they are (esp. compared to the Xbox 360).

Well the thing about Xbox 360 is that Cave is like the main company that releases bullet hell games and they pretty much adore Xbox 360 which is why Cave from Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 is obsessed over Vert in Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2. They always seemed to hate PS3 and even cancelled their PS Vita game. But Cave did allow 5pb. to Publish 1 of their bullet hells to PS3 since I suppose even Cave knows that Xbox 360 is pretty much dead in Japan and only them and 5pb. are keeping it alive there.

Then there's Konami with the Otomedius series which I still don't know why the 2 games on Xbox 360 never got released to PS3.

Strike Witches bullet hell game was ported from Xbox 360 to PSP.

And the makers of Raiden are still making bullet hell games on Xbox 360 like their newest Anime-style game called Caladrius.

It's like no matter if it's a first-person shooter or a bullet hell shooter, it seems to want to be on Xbox 360.
