Default DOOMED! The Untold Story of Roger Corman's Fantastic Four

Hey guys,

I'm sure many of you here are familiar with Roger Corman's Fantastic Four movie that was made (but never released) in the 90's. While you can now watch the film on youtube, for years it only existed as a bootleg at your local comic-con. Why? There's a variety of reasons, but my friend is in the process of making of documentary about it. His co-producer on the project was working for Corman at the time and was there on the set every day. They have lined up the original cast for the documentary that they are shooting next month.

He is currently raising funds on IndieGoGo, so please consider supporting the project. Thanks!

I think there's some sort of legal requirement that Roger Corman needs a new documentary made about him every year.

No, no, you're confusing it with the federal law that Stan Lee gets a documentary made about him every six months, on pain of imprisonment.
Either way, it's the same reason, they have a lot of spare retirement time and need the money.

(Although, yes, there HAVE been a lot of attempts to remind us of Corman's glory days, once he started to work for SyFy and Epix.)

Forget the legal hurdle of the original films... let's try and get clearance from Arrested Development!

Corman's a real surname?

That's brilliant! I made it up for my Writing for Film & TV seminar yesterday.

Is this still coming? I'd be interested to see this, as well as an actual release of the 1994 FF movie (even if it's on dvd).

Yes it's coming! For the movie I think that we will never see it in any format since the Marvel Studios doesn't want to be released. Anyway everything's will be explained in the documentary.

That's impossible. They think they're funny with Ant-Man and Deadpool.

Still the best Fantastic Four movie, and it only cost 1 million dollars to make. Too bad they won't put it on blu-ray!

If they want to stop any film being commercially released, it should be Fan4stic. Although it's too late now...

*Note, at post time, it appears that the media will be a BD-R. If that changes, we'll update.

Unfortunate (re: BD-R) but not surprising. It's better than DVD-only, I recently got the Colin Hanks Tower Records documentary, All Things Must Pass on BD-R and was pleased.

I do. It would make for a very interesting documentary. I would tell it through reconstructions of the behind the scenes problems alongside Michael Moore-esque authorship with the documentary maker demanding Josh Trank to reveal why he killed the Fantastic Four.

Y'know, even though the 1994 Fantastic Four movie is incredibly cheesy, made on a $1 Million budget, and not intended for release, it's still a far better film compared to the 2000's and the sole 2010's (so far) Fantastic Four film.
