Hmmmmm interesting news, not sure I totally believe it.
I'll give it a month or two before pre-ordering.

The Psycho II European release disappeared and then a few weeks later Scream announced it, could this go the same way?

Psycho II wasn't on any Amazon website. This pre order is 100% real and happening...

That week on August seems to be the catalog week for Universal. Worldwide is inevitable, I just don't expect as much DNR applied as their other discs..

If they took the time to restore Jaws 3D in 3D and in 4k, I'm sure they would give this the same treatment (hopefully not the 3D part!).

If it's on Amazon, it's coming. Probably a worldwide release, though it could take months (years) before it shows up in the U.S. Or maybe Shout will get to it...all I know is, I'm importing it

The Germans obviously love their vintage movies, which is good news for us

I'm hoping that'll get released at some point. This is good news though for the 2nd film, I'll definitely be upgrading my DVD.

Here's hoping the it's uncensored this time around too.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaws_2#Home_releases

Looks like it was censored to attain a PG certificate on DVD.

I think that home release section is a bit mis-leading, poorly written.
The underwater attack on the helicopter pilot has never been on any theatrical or home video version. The article doesn't say those scenes were ever included and then removed from VHS or DVD, it just mentions that the scenes appeared on the DVD as deleted scenes.

One scene that was shot but never seen is Bobs death, I'd love to see that. The actor Billy Van Zandt has spoken of it and I have photo of it somewhere - I'll try and find it.

EDIT: Photo

Also mentioned here http://www.scribd.com/doc/100256820/...LOUIS-R-PISANO see page marked 37 for descriptions of Bobs 2 death scenes. Lou Pisano who wrote this article is a massive Jaws fan who knows probably anything you would want to know about it. Both him and his wife Yana make their own Jaws based movie's featuring interviews and location visits, they both organize Jawsfest on Martha's Vineyard.
I like where it mentions that Bob was originally Quints son in the script.
If you have time, have a read of the full article - very interesting.

Yeah, that scene showed up in the old ABC TV version of the movie along with the other deleted scenes. Every once in a while TBS will air it, though with the advent of HDTV, you're less likely to come across it.
