Kingdom Hearts III (2019) - Blu-ray Forum

Sony dropped a bombshell at their E3 2013 press briefing by announcing that Kingdom Hearts III is currently in development for the PlayStation 4. This came directly on the heels of the company's announcement that Final Fantasy Versus XIII is also coming to PS4, under its new moniker: Final Fantasy XV.

Kingdom Hearts II, the last numbered installment in the series, was a PS2 exclusive when it released back in 2006.

With Disney's recent acquisitions of Marvel Entertainment, Pixar, Studio Ghibli, and Lucasfilm, there will be no shortage of locations and characters for Sora to visit and meet along his adventure.

Simple and Clean is still my favorite game theme. Really fits the mood of the game perfectly.

It's probably got a good 2 years before it's release given that was a concept demo. Enough time for KH2.5 to be released on the PS3.

I am thinking 4+ years. We will be lucky to have versus by the end of 2014. Versus (XV) is being made by the Kingdom hearts team. They will need to finish it before they get going on KH3.

The game does look extremely early in development from the video, didn't look at all polished to me at least.

This will also not be a PS4 exclusive, and will be hitting XBone along with FF XV.

You guys think it was a mistake to announce KH3 so early? I think that was the biggest blunder they did with VS. After what happened with that, they really shouldnt have announced KH3 until they were quite a bit into its development but they havent even started yet (well barely) so it will be years before we even see it, if it comes out next gen at all (Im serious!). I think SE shouldnt have announced VS XIII until after XIII was released in 2009/2010.

So glad they are keeping the overall feel and look to the series judging by the video, nothing too realistic looking, but just polished up and what not for next gen, it looks great!

Impressed with what I see, though I'll admit I miss the PS2 looks of the In Game/Cinematic modes, but this new look is quite impressive.

I like the idea of using some Disney attractions, at first I was like "well how the bloody *bleep* will they make a Disney Attraction work?" but now I see they only used some attractions for Summons/D Links (which works) I love the Big Thunder Mountain attack. Be fun to finish off Dr. Falicer with that attack.

You know this game might win me over to the PS4 but I'll upgrade after I finish 2.5 Remix, yet I hope they release it on the Playstation store though

Judging by the background in the Rock Titan sequence, the battle could be in either KeyBlade GraveYard or Greece/Hydra Canyon (Hercules)
