Default The final assault, or onslaught.

Today tells us

that the HD DVD industries have taken the Transformer loss to Blu very seriously. Todays blitz on CNBC, amazon.com, the Wal-mart & K mart thing... shows that the final battle is coming. This Christmas sales will likely determine the outcome of the format war. They are giving it their best last push. It's the Battle of the Buldge for High Def.

I would laugh if, because the deceitful CNBC article, Warner announced tomorrow that it will go Blu exclusive but I'm not counting on it.

I am convinced that between now and Christmas, it is important to buy as many Blu-ray discs and even players, as you possibly can.

Yea..... that wasn't an "article". Rather, it was some misinformed dolt's blog post.

That crap NBC news is going to run tomorrow is going to be full of FUD. At least if it is full of FUD, then ABC and Fox will just put up a bunch of Blu-Ray propaganda on their news.

They have killed their market for HD-DVD players over $99.

Nah, the Transformers loss was huge loss of morale for HD-DVD, the final battle for 4th quarter should be cake for BD, "we have the tools, and the talent, it's Miller Time!"

FUD & Firesales are not going to get them anyplace, the BDA has setup the infrastructure of something that Microshiba will never be able to tear down.

What's New
By Henning Molbaek
FIRST ONLINE Nov 1, 2007

Speculation started when Warner Bros.' VP of HD Media, Dan Silverberg, hinted that the studio was evaluating its stand on being HD neutral in the format war. It led many to believe that the studio would choose sides.

However, WB spokesman Jim Noogan talked with Video Business Online yesterday and confirmed that they would stay neutral.

He said that the company always evaluated its business models and also did this with HD support, and that he believed the fourth quarter would be important for both sides. The result will be another piece of information on where things are going, but for now the studio will support both HD DVD and Blu-ray.

I think it's pretty pathetic how after all the losses they've had this year, toshiba still insists that they're still 'in the race'. give me a break this war was over the day transformers came out. Get over it Toshiba! stop prolonging the inevitable!

I hope HD DVD blows up in a big way in Toshiba's hands, causing them to lose massive amounts of money, and massive layoffs.

Watch the Death Star contractors argument in Clerks, to see why I don't care about Toshiba-employed people, and want everything bad happen to them.

This is definitely a desperation move... There's no way they're not losing at least $100 with each player they sell. Plus, like other people said, the people who are cheap enough for HD-DVD players to hit that price point probably aren't going to buy any $30 movies. Toshiba isn't going to have any sales on movies anytime soon because they're losing enough money as it is.

I was just on The Office website which is owned by NBC Universal...

Believe it or not, right on the website was an ad for Spider-Man on Blu-ray Disc.
