Hey folks, it's time for my next Steelbook Giveaway. Up for grabs this time is TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY which has been converted down to a 1 disc. The only damage is a 1cm hairline scratch on the bottom front left corner, other than that, case & disc are perfect.

Thank you for being generous enough to host a giveaway. Gary Oldman plays a lot of great roles in so many movies and in almost all of them you simply forget it's Gary and consider him "Zorg", "Commissioner Gordon", "Sirius Black", etc. He's a true actor who can bring you into a character's life and emotion.

I appeciate the films listed so far, but I'm going to pick one that hasn't been listed because it's another exceptional character played well by Gary.

The Book of Eli, where Gary plays "Carnegie", lord of the post-apocalyptic town.

Denzel Washington in this film is such a strong presence and a scene stealer in his own right that it requires someone of Gary's caliber just to balance Denzel out. Gary provides plenty of reason to despise him throughout the movie's runtime, and owns nearly every scene he's in.

Other thoughts about the film aside, Carnegie is not unlike what any of us might imagine a small-time power-hungry yet half ineffectual man would be. A force to be reckoned with against small-minded men, yet no match for one with a true plan and purpose.
