not much longer to wait now.

I hope they eventually release the full series on blu ray eventually. I was hoping they were going to announce that at comic con the other day

Comes with a free paper-weight.......otherwise known as the second movie.....

Still can't believe I picked up the second movie on BD thinking it was the first one. Man what a downer that was when I realized......

Hey, better late than never

I've been hearing rumours of the first season coming to Blu-ray this fall, would really be something.

Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.
I'd say it's next to certain - Fox aren't going to press a new disc for this release, it'll be exactly the same as the initial release.

Indeed it is, it's the same extended version that's been around since it first came out on VHS so chances are if you've owned the film before then you've seen it. It's good that they've included both versions though.

Guess it might have been different had it not been an XF movie, but waiting for years for more XF, and then getting that. Disappointment.

Agreed. It was a little better second time around when I knew what to expect (though still just a very long average episode of the series) but the first time I watched it - hey, five years ago yesterday! - it was a huge disappointment. Two highlights - hearing the theme tune at the start and
[Show spoiler]Skinner turning up towards the end
. And then that mid-credits sequence? It was like a middle finger to the fans. Just bizarre.

The first film, though not perfect, is still fantastic though. And the blu-ray is great (I have the French version).

Yep - first movie was great, and reflective of the XF at its peak.

Agree re the two highlights. I'm really struggling to think of any more myself.

Do you mean when they wave?
I always liked that, I took it as a goodbye and thank you to the fans.
My best mate and I waved back when we saw it in the cinema - then proceeded to piss ourselves at how immature we were/are

I do - it was just incredibly cheesy, unrealistic and breaking the fourth wall in the most ridiculous way possible. A swim-suited Mudler and Scully waving at an overhead camera on the way to a desert island? Ugh. Hated it. Still do.

I thought it was great, like I said I took it as "Thanks for watching, goodbye"
I thought it was quirky of them do it, shows they have a fun side and perhaps enjoy more of a connection with their fans than we thought. And it's not the first time we saw Mulder in swimwear, remember those red trunks

I still wave back at them when I watch it now.

Fair enough, I'm glad it worked for someone.

As for their fun side, give me Bad Blood any day
