DOUBLE DRAGON

So, if you're like me and was a product of the 90's, you would remember the tv series, the film, the massively successful video game franchise, the comics, the books, and toy line centered around Double Dragon...

But that was like 20 years ago!

And it's about to be the 20th Anniversary next year, so I thought I would see if anyone else would love this amazingly 90's movie on Blu-Ray? I would love it.

It has a huge cast, with Alyssa Milano, Robert Patrick, Scott Wolf, Mark Dacascos, George Hamilton, Andy Dick, Vannah White, Kristina Wagner, and Julia Nickson. It's owned by Universal, which could make Shout Factory a contender as well.

Anyone else think this would make for a nice, nostalgic, release?

Would adore this if it were put out by someone, preferably Shout as I mentioned in their thread.

One of my favorite movies as a kid and I still love it to this day. I remember watching this gem in the theater with my neighbor at the time, we went back to try and see it a 2nd time a week later and it vanished from theaters lol!

This movie received a lot of hate but I absolutely love it. It pains me Universal hasn't bothered to put this out on blu...COME ON SHOUT!

I wonder if there is an HD Master for this film or has it ever been broadcast on HDTV?

Nice, I got my copy from Amazon Germany yesterday. Looks like a decent package but I haven't checked it out yet. Comes with a nice slipcase too, I'll try to post pictures tonight.

Hopefully a region A release is around the corner, I've always enjoyed this and Super Mario Bros. for what they are... really cheesy bad B-movies.

I can confirm that the German release of Double Dragon is indeed REGION FREE. I was able to play it in my Region A blu-ray player last night no problem. Sure enough the back of the case says nothing about a specific region so color me surprised. If you're a fan of this 90s cheese classic like I am, I can whole-heartedly recommend this release. The only thing that sucks is there is a behind-the-scenes booklet included but it's all in German.

Also, Amazon.DE sent me two copies by mistake. I was charged for both and I really don't feel like going through the hassle of sending it back to Germany. So if anyone in the US doesn't want to import their copy, send me a PM and I'll sell it for what I paid for each ($19 shipped).
