Default Logitech Bluetooth Cordless Desktops compatible with the PS3?

Hey Guys

Just wondering.... I hate playing first person shooters with the controller. I've been a computer user for a very long time, and I'm used to a keyboard and mouse setup.

Anyone have any experience with the Bluetooth keyboard and mouse combos that Logitech has out, and if they work with the PS3? Particularly the Desktop MX 5000 Laser or the DiNovo Desktop systems?

Thanks for the help, I'm pumped for Haze and Drake's Fortune, but I HATE the controller....

Unreal Tournament III's the only game announced so far with keyboard+mouse support. I don't know if that's just USB or also bluetooth setups. Someone else will know if the Logitech's you mentioned are compatible.

I have one an MX5000, it works great, both the mouse and the keyboard. Get used to the keypad for those games you mentioned though, because I don't think they will support KB/Mouse. UT3 is the only one that promises it. I use it from about 15 feet, no issues. Make sure you can find a way to get comfortable with it in your lap, it's near impossible without a tv dinner tray or some pillows, or something else. Take all of this into consideration before making your purchase.

Also, I bought refurb'd from a guy on ebay for like $80 when the mx5000 pack had been out only a month or so. I'll look up his name again if you intend to purchase from him. I also use this setup with my laptop when I hook it up to my TV to play WoW/quake,etc.

Yeah, checkout the TimeShift demo. You'll start to drool for that too.

There is also something called fragfx by splitfish that you may want to at least check out..haven't tried it myself..it's wired but they are supposed to be releasing a wireless version as well.

Well thanks for the input guys... Very disappointing that there aren't any games that use the keyboard/mouse combo... I heard about that FragFX, I may check it out. TimeShift fricken rocks! Guess I'll just have to get used to the controller again... Last time I used a controller it was for Goldeneye on the N64, lol.

Logitech is releasing a new product in the next few days for the PS3 called the Mediaboard Pro, it's bluetooth and it works on 2 AA batteries (200 hour life)... Has a trackpad built into the board and looks like the new diNovo Edge board, looks very promising... But I can't find anyone who is carrying it in Canada - and Amazon.com won't send it here for some reason.. I hope they become available in the next bit, it's still pretty new. Decent price too (amazon's got it for 79.99$ USD)...
