They're new to blu-ray, but they've been around as DVDRulers since 2006, and are now called RetroVision Entertainment.

I updated the link.

From what I gather, yes but The Shark Hunter is the only one they have officially said WILL be coming to blu-ray.

Cool, there's always room for new companies, especially if they're serious about doing good work on transfers. Maybe they'll tackle the kinds of films Midnight Legacy or even Blue Underground lost interest in.

I'm afraid these titles will not be released on Blu-Ray anytime soon.

Hello, Brannon! Quick questions: Is this your first Blu-Ray release? Also, can you tell me a bit about the types of movies your company will specialize in releasing? Thanks in advance!

I would first like to apologize to the admins for the duplicate account, I completely forgot about this one.

This is our first BluRay release (we originally kept to DVD) and as of right now, we are releasing shark films to fit with the Summer season. Besides that, we plan to release films that have cult followings that are not released currently. I personally love all types of films and want to give each one a chance on the entertainment market.

Based on the DVD releases you've announced, I would say The Last Shark is the gem. I love them all though, and I'm always eager to uncover a nice cheesy Shark movie.

I'm in.

But any non-Shark films, particularly horror, in the works?

We do have a few horror films we're working on acquiring, but I can't say anything yet as nothing has been finalized.

Happy to have you with us, Brannon! Always happy to have more cult orientated labels hitting the circuit. I've supportd your past releases and plan on picking up your future offerings. Please continue to be an active presence here and doing quality work. Best of luck with your upcoming titles!

They've done "quality work"? Have you guys SEEN his "Last Shark" disc?

It's a flat out abomination. The whole bit about it being remastered from an actual print was a joke, all they did was source the picture from a European PAL release and fiddle with the coloring. It is a bootleg masquerading as a legitimate release and the picture quality speaks for itself. (If you guys need another source, read the conversation here from other people who purchased it and verified the content is a rip from an overseas PAL DVD --http://www.horrordvds.com/vb3forum/s...ad.php?t=43496

I wouldn't hold out any hope of this title being legit nor would I support it. I'd expect it to be an upconvert from a standard-def source.

Say what you wish about RetroVision, but we do not engage in bootlegging. THE LAST SHARK master was acquired from the DVDRulers catalog (we had paired up for the release), and I clearly remember working with the digibeta that was from a 35mm transfer (telecined in California). In regards to THE SHARK HUNTER, we are working with the rights holders in Italy and I am awaiting details about the negative they have in their vaults. You can also look at our GREAT WHITE release, in which we worked (and are still working) with the director himself on the release as he owns the rights.

I understand that many companies have bootlegged this title before, but we are 100% authentic.. not like Jef Films, or any other "cheap label" on the net.

Do you own the disc or are you just repeating what you've heard?

I've never heard of their being "bootleggers".

There's only one person in that thread who actually has the disc, and they say it "looks pretty good". I bought and have the disc, but haven't watched it yet, but I threw it in to briefly check it out, and though it looked decent. I have no idea about what they may or may not have done, but calling it "a flat out abomination" seems extreme and perhaps misinformed if you don't have the disc.

Is this the one? The reviews are all mixed together from other releases of it so those don't really help...

I think psycho was talking about The Shark Hunter, not the Last Shark, if that was directed to her post.

But yeah, that's their edition.

whoops!

Anyway, re: SHARK HUNTER, I watched the VHS release many years ago. It's not the greatest flick, but if you like Castellari, Nero, or euro-adventures, it's worth a look.
