Comparing TRILOGIES with each other.

Basically select two different trilogies that in your mind have some similarities. I'll start off.

The Godfather Trilogy + The Dark Knight Trilogy

Both are well respected and are of Oscar material, focusing in on crime, well acted, with a epic story and cinematic tone.

SPOILERS AHEAD

The Godfather - Michael Corleone has to become the new Godfather after his father's passing. He hides in Sicily for a while and comes back a changed man.
Batman Begins - Bruce Wayne's life changes after his parents are murdered. He goes on a spiritual journey and trains with the League of Shadows and returns to Gotham as Batman.

Shows huge character growth from the beginning, to who they become in the end.

The Godfather Part II - Michael Corleone has had the responsibility of being the Don for a while. But it's taking a toll on him.
The Dark Knight - Bruce Wayne has had the responsibility of being Batman for a while. But it's taking a toll on him.

Both considered the best in the trilogy.

The Godfather Part III - Set many years later. Michael is a lot older, and ready for a successor to take up the mantle. A story that's not as good as the first two, but a fitting conclusion to the saga.
The Dark Knight Rises - ... Ditto.

They each are the weak link, but are still great movies... and awesome trilogies!

X men / Blade - Both films - Introduce us to world of supernatural via a naive Female character who meets up with Bad-ass supernatural mutant. Both feature a main villain needing to use a protagonist for blood/ability to complete their devious plan of world domination. Both feature villains getting electrocuted by a hero. Both feature villains who view humans as a much lesser species.

X Men 2 / Blade 2- This time in both films the Good guys must team up with the villains from the first film and work together to defeat a much more imperative threat.
Much more love story in both films and both films involve the heroes infiltrating an underground base for a prolonged and epic final act.
Father/son villains.
Female love interest to the main character dies by sacrificing herself

X Men 3 / Blade 3- Not as many connections this time around but the main characters are a little more brooding after losing a love interest at the end of the 2nd film in the series. A major character dies early on (Cyclops/ whistler) and both films are pretty disappointing overall.
