United Kingdom Oliver! (1968) - 21st October 2013

Listed on Amazon, but not yet available for pre-order, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be releasing Oliver! on Blu-ray on the 21st October 2013. No artwork at present but the Italian version on Amazon has this artwork:

So it could be part of the Sony Classics range

I have the Italian version and while the print is pretty clean, it does seem to have a fair bit of contrast boosting, though I seem to remember the dvd was the same. It's definitely an older master used, but it's still a decent upgrade and looks the best I've ever seen it.

I like this and had it on DVD although I rarely watched it if that makes sense but I will pick this up at some stage, probably when it's under a tenner, this will look really well in HD....if done right of course.

United Kingdom Now available to pre-order

Got my order in, glad I waited for the UK one, the US is a no go as it's twilight time. Want the Lean one now too, so I'll wait for a UK or US edition of that (1080p please), don't want French one, I hate foreign Text on my blus (though I'm forced into getting a few German ones now, to keep collection region B uncut editions where possible)

EDIT: Got this now, will watch in November, October is Month of Horror marathon watching

Got shipping notice, nice release price too, wish all BD's were of similar price....reason for popping in, are there any HQ cover scans out there (DVD profiler) Amazon are still showing just a small jpeg.

Thanks.

Thanks.
I just scanned the cover for DVD Profiler. I'd upload them to this site, but it doesn't have the BD case and don't want to upload it as a slip cover because this release doesn't have one.

Received this yesterday. I sampled a few scenes and overall it looked okay. A bit muddy and flat at times, but I suppose that's the film's look.

This is fantastic. Is it available over in the custom artwork thread at all? I had a quick look but couldn't see it and would love to replace my Italian cover for this one.

I have a copy of the UV digital code for the UK release of Oliver! if anyone wants it. I am in Canada so it won't work for me.

Free of charge! PM if interested. First come, first served. (Trade forum rules won't let me put free giveaways on there, so I am posting this offer here).
