Russian Classic animation in Bluray!

I just saw that there is a release in Bluray of Maugli (1973)!!

So, that means that there is still hope for other classic russian animations like The Snow Queen, The Snow Maiden, The Frog Princess etc.?

Thanks for that website - it's very useful. But can you confirm for sure or not that Kode Apokolypse Bluray has English subtitles? I thought that it didnt have English subtitles (like on the Russian dvd) but this website is listing English subs?

I had the Russian DVD which didn't have English subs. Does it make sense that the bluray then might have English subs? The blu-ray was, after all, released a bunch of years after the DVD so maybe it does actually have English subs.

I haven't got "The Apocalypse Code" bluray and apparently will not. This is not the movie i want in my own collection. BDinfo report i posted above is all i have about this release. Not 100% guarantee, of course. But i suppose it's well enough.

I wonder if the work of Aleksandr Petrov will be ever released on BD. In Russia or anywhere really. The Old Man and the Sea was even released on IMAX, it is begging for a modern transfer!

These are available at eBay. The seller offers batch discounts and combined shipping. I bought all 13. I've only just got them and I've just checked the first disk so far, all new transfers in gorgeous color. They may be upscales, but they're not the same as the DVDs I've seen. The disks are single layered. The films occupy about 20gb. The soundtracks on the first disk appear to all be original- no synth overdubs. No subs, not English track. I am going through the discs and trying to ID the titles. I'll list the ones I identify here.

Here is a screen cap from the first disk.

I've had a chance to scan through most of the discs. These are all fantastic transfers from what I can see. Beautiful color. Some of the prints are not as sharp as others, but I think that is the film element itself not the transfer. A million times better than any Russian DVD I've seen. The Mowgli disc looks incredible. It definitely doesn't look like an upscale. It looks like a really good 16mm print in HD. No subs or English translations, but that doesn't matter much. The story comes across even without understanding all the dialogue.
