There are a lot of movies/series about a zombie apocalypse. We sometimes (well I know I do) yell at the actors for being extremely stupid.
What would you do in case of a (zombie) apocalypse? Would you stay in a city, would you go to a remote area, would you live on a remote island or inside a bunker? This is what I would do: - Acquire weapons and ammunition, gather everyone close to me, steal a few trucks, kill everyone else who's scavenging/stealing at the supermarkets/gas stations and load the trucks with food, water, gas, etc. And then head to a remote area, preferably a mountain top. Install a few snipers, cameras and hundreds of booby traps. I would also dig some kind of a bunker and try to build or steal one or more small choppers. |

I would load up whatever food & supplies are readily available at my place as well as my closest family & friend's places then head to my fathers house. He's already got the guns and reloads his own ammo plus he's been ranching all his life and knows plenty of farmers so we would be set on food for the long haul.

Crash with Max Brooks, ofcourse.
if that failed, straight to my dad's for guns and ammo then head to a private, secluded undisclosed location. Don't want no one showing up there incase the apocalypse happens before the net crashes.... |

Oh my God, it just came to me. They need to make a This Is The End like zombie apocalypse movie where actors from actual zombie films have to claw and scratch their way through the now ravaged undead world.
That would be so damn entertaining. |

I already have the bare minimum of survival tools: first-aid kit, pocket knives, flint and steel, compass, an emergency kit with rations water and tools. I would pack some clothes, food, and other crap into a bag I can carry (probably my hiking backpack) and go from there.
The problem is, for a zombie-pocalypse specifically, I have zero weapons and zero weapons expertise. In spite of this, I would either have to loot a place for a weapon, or resort to makeshift weapons of some kind. In my house, I could probably use one of my walking staffs as a decent bludgeon, and the kitchen knives might come in handy. However, I would prefer to get a hold of a proper sword, preferably a katana, to handle zombies at close range. Not sure about guns and ammo; I imagine they'd be hard to come across, and they seem ineffective against an entire hoard (not to mention, with no gun training, it may be inevitable that I'd shoot my eye out). Thus, I think it would be ideal to start training to use my body as a weapon, and use blades to cut through the masses of undead. Since I live pretty far out in the country, I'd probably have to move out sooner or later, to find a place closer to sources of food. I'd probably hole up in my house, barricading the doors and windows until the initial outbreak blows over and the neighborhood settles down. Then I could probably get by looting the nearby houses that are abandoned. I could drive for a while, but in the absence of plentiful gas, I'm not sure how far I could go. I figure staying in an urban area wouldn't be good, so I'd probably aim for driving to the next state over, which would be more lush, and where I could live off the land suitably. All that being said, I also realize that I might have better luck finding other survivors and assimilating with their group. If they don't shoot me on sight that is. But I'd happily assume that there's greater strength in numbers. On my own, it'd probably only be a matter of time. |

And that feeling, the feeling of being powerless and meaningless, will only become stronger when the entire world around you perishes... When everything you ever cared for is gone. It's those last moments that will count. It's not about surviving, survival doesn't exist if you really think about it. It's all about extending your life. Nothing more, nothing less. It's all so sad ![]() Last edited by blurayisnice; 09-07-2013 at 11:15 PM. |
