Anyone else notice recently over the past month or so amazon takes a lot longer to ship Blu-rays when you order them? or just things in general. This is the 3rd time i've ordered something on opening week that says will ship in 24 hours yada yada and have to wait over a week for it to ship. Granted I use the free shipping but I've ordered through amazon at least over 20 times and only over my last 3 Blu-ray and game orders have i had to wait over a week for them to send it.
I got to thinking and because amazon is pushing hd-dvd so much maybe they hold it until Monday so it doesn't count the week of release... Last edited by Hayashi; 11-06-2007 at 05:50 PM. |

I think walmart had it's propaganda beam aimed at his head when he wrote the title of his post.

I think the real reason is that they want you to subscribe to Amazon Prime. I noticed before I used that it would take a few days to a week after something was available for it to ship. Now that i have subscribed, it usually ships the day before it is released. Amazon Prime members get their orders filled before the free shipping people do.

On Amazon every one of my Blu-ray orders, if already released and in stock, ship the same day. Pre-orders usually ship on the Monday before release, since I do 2-day shipping.
Before signing up for Prime and using the Free Shipping option they would typically be shipped the following day after the order was placed and since most items ship out of the east coast, it only take 2-3 days of transit time to get to me. Why did I switch to prime then if I got items so quickly? Because most orders I make now are single Blu-rays and thus not eligible for the free shipping since most are under the $25.00 threshold. I accidentally put walmart in the title but i fixed it rofl.
I have no reason to sign up for prime because it won't be free shipping to hawaii. I'd still have to pay for it. Although i'm not 100% sure since amazon customer service don't know what there talking about sometimes. I've ordered from amazon a ton and it never takes over a week for them to ship something. Or at least it never used to. |

My copy of Ratatollie from Amazon says shipping soon, WTF? I pre-ordered it weeks ago and they haven't shipped it on the release day as of 5:30pm EST?
