Default Where do they get their info???

So I went into Blockbuster after work and class to check out if they had increased their Blu-ray selection with some new movies. Unfortunately they did not so I just picked up some movies that weren't on blu (grindhouse, talk to me, sicko) and went to the register. While checking out I asked the guy when they are going to start getting some more Blu-ray movies in and he asked what movies I was looking for so he could look it up. So I told him I was looking for Mr. Brooks, and Meet the Robinsons and before I named a few more that had came out that were not in the store he told me that Meet the Robinsons is NOT on Blu-ray.

Mind you I still have my Best Buy shirt on and I kinda brushed it off and just said trust me it is and he looked it up and said well they don't have it yet. Then he went on to say that Disney is not going to be making anymore Blu-rays since Paramount/Dreamworks switched to HD-DVD and they will be only making movies on HD-DVD now. As you all are now, I had the WTF?! are you talking bout look on my face. In shock I just said excuse me. And he said that this happened a little while back and that Paramount makes all the Disney movies and Disney is associated with Paramount so since they switched Disney is now HD-DVD.

Obviously I told him this was wrong and that Disney is only on Blu-ray and that is not changing. Looking back, I should have said A LOT more but I did correct him.

But where do people get this kind of information considering that Disney is one of the largest Blu-ray supporters!!

He may very well be a fanboy. Either that or a complete idiot. Disney and Panasonic are traveling across the country touting the benefits of Blu, and this character has absolutely no idea what he's talking about. You owe it to all of us here, and consumers everywhere, not to even mention the Blockbuster Videos that are supporting Blu, to report this incompetence. I would write down everything you remember, time, date and their name (or description if you don't remember) and send a hand-written letter to Blockbuster's corporate office as well as to the BDA (copied, so that Blockbuster is aware) describing what transpired. Either their staff needs to be educated, or fired for spreading FUD if it was intentional. 'Nuf said...

well I know its not the entire staff because I have went in there on several occasions and picked up some blu-rays and the associates kinda asked me what was the big deal with blu-ray and didn't know too much about it except that it would not play in a regular dvd player and just always ask whether or not you have a blu-ray player or ps3. So I have educated a few employees on the benefits of blu-ray and how I don't buy any regular dvds anymore etc.

With that said, since I did rent a few movies the date, time, store #, and employee # is on the receipt. So I'll probably just send them an email to their feedback website.

I think he was more misinformed than anything (but I could be wrong).

Something about the "Mock him when the store is full" part made me laugh.

Honestly, it's amazing how misinformed the general public is of all the High Def media.

Just another reason why blu-ray needs to shut the door on hd dvd.

It is things like this that just make my blood boil and cause me great stress.

For those that donot know what stress is let me give you the best definition I have ever heard.
The confusion created when the mind overrides the bodys basic desire to choke the living !@#% out of some ahole who desperately needs it.

Durning the CC buyathon a customer said that to me the was buying Blu as well. And I just told him that he will have to change his toon on Nov. 6.

It sounds to me like he may have simply confused Disney with Dreamworks, since DW is also known for making widely known animated films.
