Default Preferred method of Blu ray shipping

Hi all, I am getting back in to selling stuff on ebay, primarily Blu-rays. There is a lot of money to be made buying store exclusives and reselling for a profit later (this is mainly to pay for my habit of buying movies I can't normally afford, not really looking to get rich). I am trying to maximize my profits by creating the cheapest shipping option but I also want every item received from me to be completely unaffected in transit, including slipcovers. So I have come to you my fellow Blu-ray enthusiasts, what is the cheapest/best way to ship Blu rays completely undamaged?

I need details on single Blu-rays, the thicker 3d sets, shipping bundles of two or three, and shipping 10 or more at once. (assume everything has a slipcover that you want to remain undamaged.

The more detail the better, and picture examples are welcome too.

Be kind, this is my first thread.

The majority of the sellers on ebay ships First Class Mail, otherwise if the buyer specifically request expedite shipping. If you purchase ebay's postage, the seller will receive a discount, and free tracking. The shipping rate are approximately $2.25. Currently, ebay is offering a cheaper discount on their shipping rate for the Holiday season, which is $1.81 First Class.

Boxes with lots of padding for multiple items, padded envelopes are good as long as they are wrapped in bubble wrap prior to being placed in the envelope.

I normally re-use packaging that i receive from other e-bayers/hastings/amazon. I open the bubble wrappers carefully then remove the existing shipping info and paste my new one on there.

For single blu ray/dvd one bubble mailer (in good condition) should transport the item fine via 1st class USPS.

For more than one blu ray/dvd i would get a bigger bubble mailer or an envelope and pad the bundle of movies and ship via 1st class USPS if under the weight limit.

I also put in padding within the case to prevent disc floatation during transit.

Have not had any complaints so far on my ebay account!

Good luck to ya.

I saved a coupe of the Hastings bubble mailers but I already ran out. Do you know where I can get these? Will they just have them that size at the post office?

post office has them, but probably cheaper to buy at walmart or an office supply store in bulk.
they also have them sold online through ebay sellers or websites, just make sure you check the quality read reviews etc.

If you look around, you can find bubble mailers for $0.25 each or less in quantities of 25 or 100. Try Sam's Club or Costco.

A person who sells a lot of blu-rays, DVDs or CDs on ebay or amazon, It'll be a lot cheaper to buy bubble mailers in bulk online. I usually get a box of the 100- 6x10 bubble mailers for only $17.00, which calculates to only 17 cents a piece, and they are good quality.

If you're dealing with relatively high dollar amount sales I'd strongly consider paying extra to insure the package for the full value of the contents and to mandate the shipping carrier collect a signature from the recipient or an authorized representative as proof of delivery. Electronic tracking alone does not constitute proof of delivery.

Proof of delivery protects you against any fraudulent chargeback claims and ensures that you can file a claim with the shipping carrier in the event of a package that is legitimately reported as lost or stolen by the buyer. It can be cost prohibitive on low priced sales, but on expensive orders you'll be grateful for it in the event of a package reported as lost or stolen. Without valid proof of delivery, the financial institutions will always side with the recipient, and if proof of delivery was not requested and paid for when the package was dropped off with the carrier, they probably won't honor any claims made for lost/stolen packages either.

Thanks for the info all! I will definitely put it to good use. I hope this thread can help other people on the forum with their shipping questions as well.
