Default Film Noir Classic Collection Volume's 1-5

Too many great noir's that haven't been released on blu-ray yet and I'm I thing to experience more of them. Most of the sets on amazon aren't being sold anymore and the ones that are, are being sold in the $20-$25 range at he moment...

It seems like a pretty good price compared to everywhere else I have looked but I just wanted to know of anyone else knows where I can get them cheaper or if anyone here is looking to get rid of their sets and would be interested in helping out?

I had the first set (the one with Out of the Past), but it was destroyed when my home flooded in 2009.

I hope that all of these see the light of day on Blu-ray at some point, but the DVDs are quite nice.

I've got the first set, but I'm only planning on selling part of it. I didn't like Gun Crazy, The Set-Up, or Murder, My Sweet enough to keep them, but I loved Out of the Past. Haven't watched The Asphalt Jungle yet.

I own all sets and I loved them all and I would recommend picking up the ones that are under $20, but it may be a while until 2 and 4 are at decent price. I do wish WB did the packing like 5 for all the volumes since it was a single packaged without full cases which took up to much space.

I've been on a massive film noir kick over the past few months, so I replaced my Film Noir Classic Collection: Volume 1 box set over Christmas.

I revisited those DVDs last week, and I had forgotten how gloriously fun those movies are. (Hence my current avatar)

So...

I'm getting the rest of them. I bought Volume 4 at a Barnes & Noble yesterday, and I placed Amazon third party seller orders for Volumes 2, 3, and 5 as well. 3 and 5 were both available for $20 from third party sellers, but I had to pay $40 for Volume 2.

With my luck, there will probably be a Blu-ray announcement for every single one of these movies this week. I do not see them being upgraded anytime soon, though. At least not all at once. (With the exception of Gun Crazy, which has a French Blu-ray release)

Warner has so far been a total and complete disappointment as far as film noir on bd. sure they have put out a few bds, but that's not saying much.
these box sets are essential viewing, and I really don't have any confidence Warner ever plans on giving these sets the bd love they deserve. Probably only like 4 or 5 of the films out of the whole 5 sets will ever get a bd release from Warner unfortunately unless they are planning a total 180.
just the sad reality of things.

At the very least let Olive Films distribute them...they are the only company I can trust now to bring these to Blu.

At least bring out more volumes like this:

I've actually gone back and bought a few other noir standouts on DVD, since the DVDs are cheap, and since I have no idea when Blu-ray upgrades will ever happen.

Lately, I've ordered...

Criss Cross
Nightmare Alley
This Gun for Hire
Where the Sidewalk Ends

According to the defining parameters on Blu-ray.com, film noir is "strongly over-represented" in my collection, and I own 59 noir titles on Blu-ray. First of all, there's no such thing as having too many film noirs. Second of all, the only reason why I do not own more is because there are not many titles available in the format to date. There are so so many more classics out there that deserve high definition treatment.

Sorry for being dense, but where can you order Nightmare Alley on Blu-ray?

Most of my film noir is on DVD since I haven't been able to find titles on Blu-ray or at least not quality duplication titles...on the DVD side, Blu-ray says I'm strongly over-represented in Film Noir

I recently picked up volumes 1-3. I'm almost all the way through vol 1 and quite enjoying it so far. I had already seen Out of the Past, but the rest are new to me.

Anyway, one thing I noticed is my copy of Clash by Night that was included in vol 2 (purchased new and sealed) has oddly fuzzy looking artwork... the sort of thing you might notice on a reprint/reproduction of a movie poster as compared to the sharpness of the original. The disc looks fine but it's almost as if WB got lazy, scanned an old DVD sleeve and reprinted it rather than going back to the original files. It's a little tricky to see in the picture but you can sort of see what I mean. Anybody else notice anything like this on theirs?
