There will probably be a steelbook for this, since it's a Paramount title, so I'll wait until that's available for pre-order

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Day one for sure. Hope Paramount will be including UV codes in their UK/IRE releases in the new year.

Pretty damn funny. Not as good as the first but still a good sequel and one to watch again and again I'm sure of it. Will like to see the deleted scenes and bloopers for this one and hope they do a 2-disc set, and maybe even a different cut!

Second a different cut, like they did with the first one. Good 2-Disc Edition.

There's a boxset now available on Amazon, but it lists 3 discs instead of what it should be which is 4 (2 for Anchorman, 2 for Anchorman 2). Guess we lose the bonus Anchorman disc, which I'll have to pick up separately now.

Also, I've never seen the original Anchorman. Which version should I watch (bearing in mind I probably won't watch it again for a while)?: Theatrical, Extended or "Wake Up, Ron Burgundy!"?

Definitely not Wake Up, Ron Burgundy which is made-up of off-cuts and is framed around a discarded subplot - it's not an 'alternative' cut of the first film so much as a bonus film. I would say watch the theatrical, there's not much difference between that and the extended but some of the jokes used in the extended are a bit weaker than the ones in the theatrical.

100% factually correct response.

I think these are the US specifications. Hopefully ours follows suit.

Either way, I'm just glad that the regular edition has the R-rated cut on it and that it wasn't exclusive to the Entertainment Store steelbook - means I only have to spend £12.50 instead of £26!

Surely we get the UK full length cut (not the shorter US theatrical cut) and the alternate version with 700+ different jokes? Not sure whether I want to pre-order this, will likely pick it up further down the line but good to know it's 2-disc like the original release of the first film. And yes, less than half the price of the steelbook is ridiculous (the steelbook I mean).

EDIT: oh right didn't read the specs. The unrated cut was the UK one right? And the theatrical cut is the US version. That's what I read a while ago anyway. Can anyone confirm this? Either way does that mean there are actually 3 cuts on the blu-ray?

Hm. They could have clarified it. Hope we get the same anyway.

There were reports (started by a tweet from Edgar Wright, but never confirmed) that it was cut for a PG-13 in the US, but left uncut at a 15 in the UK and some other territories (I think Australia was one), which would explain why only two cuts were listed on the UK release.

Paramount generally change the language tracks on international releases, so it wouldn't be too much work just to hide the US PG-13 option...

And would just providing the UK market with the US Blu-ray pressings for Anchorman 2, be just too much work for Paramount?
