Default Recycling Blu-ray Cases?

I have some Elite 3-disc cases that I replaced because they were damaged on the bottom. Does anyone know if I can recycle the old ones, and what type (number) of plastic they'd be considered?

They should have the three arrows logo on there somewhere, I recycle old cases fairly often like the Eco cases. IIRC they are made of polypropylene.

I replace all of my eco cases with standard cases and sell the eco cases on eBay.

I wasn't sure if the plastic formula was different for non-Eco cases.

My god, people actually buy those on purpose?

Indeed they do. I think a lot of people buy them to replace the larger DVD cases that contained BDs from Blockbuster closings.

We don't have curbside recycling here.
Polypropylene is number 5 plastic, which means these are going to be trashed for me most likely. None of the normal recycling centers take it (only type 1, 2, and plastic shopping bags). Recycling type 5 or type 6 (polystyrene) can only be done at the household hazardous waste place for town, which I have to make an appointment to visit, but I'll check further.

I guess I was just thinking if i was going to go to the trouble of buying a case and paying shipping I'd just buy a pack of normal Vivas. Casetopia even has them in singles.

If you have a Best Buy anywhere near you, they take dvd and blu ray cases, etc...

Hey, there is a Best Buy close to me. Thanks!

Edit: That would be very appropriate, since the damaged cases were on a BD set I bought from them.
